A great, all-in-one product to treat the exterior foundation for a broad spectrum of insects including midges, mosquitoes, and over 200+ insects would be Onslaught Insecticide.  Onslaught is a microencapsulated insecticide that sits on the surface and is effective to treat insects on the exterior foundation, around windows, doors, and under the eaves of the roof or patios but also on landscape beds, bushes, trees, shrubs, etc. This can also be used indoors as well. 
 
The residual is 30 to 45 days outdoors and 90 days indoors for general maintenance applications. The mix rate is 1fl oz per gallon of water and applied using a hand pump sprayer or backpack sprayer.
