Bifen IT is considered a repellent because insects can detect it. This does not mean they are truly repelled from the area they can just choose to avoid it as they know something is there. They must contact the treated area to be effected by the product though.
Bifen IT cannot be applied near any fruit that will be consumed. While you do not need to pull the plants, you just won't be able to consume the fruit for up to a year.
Yes, Bifen IT is labeled for tick control.
Yes, ProCare Bifen 7.9 Insecticide & Bifen IT are essentially the same product. They are just made by different companies & come in different sizes. Pets should be kept off the lawn while wet & they may return once the product has dried
Bifen IT can be used indoors as well you will just apply it to baseboards, window frames, and door frames. I typically recommend just applying outdoors as a barrier but they will cross it and get in the home but they will eventually die. If you do apply indoors, you can apply indoors and out on the same day.
Bifen IT is not designed to be used along the perimeter of lakes since it is harmful to aquatic life so would not be used around docks. We recommend keeping Bifen IT treatments at least 25 feet from bodies of water to avoid runoff into the lake. You could use the all natural EcoVia instead which many folks use to treat their docks for mosquitoes spiders, and other insects that is safe around water.
Bifen IT is not labeled for use across interior surfaces as a broadcast per the product label. Any carpets that have been treated should be shampooed/steam cleaned thoroughly to remove the product, hard floor surfaces can be mopped or steam cleaned to remove. Bifen should only be applied along baseboards and in cracks and crevices when used inside.
No, Bifen I/T is not labeled to be used in an electrostatic fogger.
Bifen IT is not labeled for use on playsets but you can treat the ground around that area. You can remove the product with soap and water.
Bifen IT is labeled to be sprayed on ornamental plants. We would recommend applying early morning or late evening to ensure you do not damage your plants due to the heat. At this time, we do not ship to Canada.
Bifen IT cannot be applied via a ULV Fogger. It can only be applied via a sprayer or mister. Generally, products that can be fogged do not leave a residual. We cannot say for certain what effects fogging the product may have caused, but we would recommend spraying your next application. It is also possible that they are coming from the neighbor's yard. Insects need to come in contact with areas sprayed with Bifen in order to be affected
Bifen IT can be applied to ornamentals. We suggest applying when temperatures are 45 to 85 degrees. The temperature restrictions only apply to the time of application and not during the course of the day.
Bifen IT should be applied at 1 oz per gallon of water. Please see our guide below for more info on how to treat and prevent these pests.

You should not be spraying with Talak or most insecticides more often than once a month as these are residual products that last on the surface for at least that long after being applied. You cannot control any insect population in a week, especially if they are well-established and in high numbers around the home or property. Pine straw, mulch, ground covers, and rock are all ideal environments for earwigs to live and thrive. There are plenty of food sources and moisture under them to provide them with a cozy and attractive space. Heavy rains and abrupt outdoor condition changes can cause insects to migrate or move indoors temporarily, and only exclusion will truly keep insects out as the insecticide does not create a barrier they cannot cross, just one they will die from crossing after a period of time once the insecticide has made its way into their system.
We'd recommend reviewing our Earwig Control & Prevention Guide to help get a better idea of how these pests function and how to make the best treatments to get control over them over time. Patience when treating will be needed.
Bifen IT is only intended to be applied via a traditional sprayer, not a spray bottle. You could make a smaller batch in your sprayer if needed for a smaller area.
We would recommend waiting 2-3 days after applying Bifen IT to mow your lawn.
Bifen IT does leave a residual and will continue killing long after it dries. Typically, for roach problems, you would want to apply every 30 days.
Bifen IT should NOT be applied to sweet corn or anything else that is edible, applications should be kept at least 15 feet away from anything edible. Sevin Concentrate can be used on sweet corn up to 3 days before harvest, per the product label.
Bifen IT like most insecticides will be harmful to fish if it gets into the pond. According to the label "This pesticide is extremely toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. To protect the environment, do not allow pesticides to enter or run off into storm drains, drainage ditches, gutters, or surface waters. Applying this product in calm weather when rain is not predicted for the next 24 hours will help to ensure that wind or rain does not blow or wash pesticide off the treatment area. Rinsing application equipment over the treated area will help avoid runoff to water bodies or drainage systems. Care should be used when spraying to avoid fish and reptile pets in/around ornamental ponds. This product is highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment or residues on blooming crops or weeds."
