Yes, Bifen IT is labeled to control scorpions as directed.
We generally recommend using a pyrethroid such as Bifen IT or Permethrin SFR as a preventative treatment in late spring/summer before the egg hatches to protect trees. If trees are badly infested, then they should be removed and either chipped or burned.
Keep in mind that trees that become infested with bark beetles are almost always susceptible due to some other existing weakness such as drought or disease.
As long as Bifen IT has a chance to dry before the rain, should not cause any problems for your pets even if they chew on the grass or drink water from puddles.
Per the product label, the soil around a well can be treated with Bifen IT as long as you are following the instructions. It is recommended to keep applications at least 10 ft away from the well. Please be sure to review the product label for more information before use. Pages 11-12 give specific instructions for treating around wells.
Bifen IT cannot be used in a fogger, can only be used in a mister/sprayer. We do not recommend fogging as there is no residual behind fogging.
Yes, Bifen IT is labeled for spider mites.
An insecticide such as Bifen IT can be mixed with a herbicide, however, we would not recommend mixing it with a surfactant. Anytime a product does not require a surfactant, we do not recommend mixing it with anything that does. If you choose to proceed, make sure you do a jar test to see how they react together. If they separate, change colors, or any other chemical reactions, they will not work together.
The coverage will depend on the type of pest you are treating for and the area that is being treated. Please check the Bifen IT product label to see what concentration and coverage rate your situation calls for. One pint of Bifen IT will make approximately 16-48 gallons of diluted solution and one quart of Bifen IT will make approximately 32-96 of diluted solution. If you need help figuring out the concentration, please call customer service at: 866-581-7378
Bifen IT cannot be used on areas that will be used for grazing by animals. Extinguish Fire Ant Bait as well, and has no withdrawal or grazing restrictions on the label.
No, Bifen IT is a water-based product and is not labeled for use in foggers of any kind.
Bifen I/T can definitely be tank mixed with herbicides you are applying to the lawn to get insect and weed control accomplished at once. Typically this is done with post-emergent herbicides to kill existing weeds instead of pre-emergent herbicides, since pre-emergent herbicides need irrigation/watering after application to move it into the soil. You would want no rain or irrigation after spraying Bifen and post-emergent herbicides for at least 6 hours and ideally up to 24 hours after treatment.
Bifen IT can be sprayed around the perimeter of your home. It can also be sprayed around window frames, door frames, utility entry points as well as on ornamental plants, shrubs, and trees. As the pests come in contact with the treated areas they will make contact with the residual that will eventually affect their central nervous system and succumb to the effect of the chemical. We recommend watching our video on Outdoor Perimeter Pest Control Treatment for a better example of the areas that need to be treated.
Bifen IT will not kill snakes and should not be applied directly to them as they are not targeted species. It should not harm snakes if they consume insects which contacted the insecticide. We do offer snake repellents. Bifen IT will only kill listed pests.
Bifen IT is not safe for fruit trees. Make sure you stay out of the root zone of the trees & do not allow any drift on to them.
Any residual left by Bifen IT can be washed off with hot soapy water. We would recommend washing it off.
Bifen IT is NOT labeled to be used around any type of edibles. Anything that came in contact with the drip line should not be consumed. We do carry products that can be applied to edible vegetation, please click the link below.
