Will Bifen IT kill bumble bees nesting under my deck? I can not see the nest, and I will have to broadcast.

A

Yes. If the bumble bees come into contact with the Bifen IT, they will be killed. It is important to make sure you are spray areas that they will actually land on. We also recommend either treating very early in the morning or late in the evening when the bees are less active.

It is a very popular product to be applied to shrubs, bushes, and trees to get rid of mosquitoes, and is great for applying to lawns for chinch bugs and other pests. The main place you should not apply it is to anything edible, like a garden.

How much to use Bifen IT on the lawn for cranefly larvae?
I am using a a garden hose sprayer and I am wondering how much to use of Bifen IT to use on my yard for cranefly larvae?

A

In most cases it is not necessary to use an insecticide for crane fly larvae control. If damage is severe we would recommend using 1 fl oz of Bifen IT per gallon of water to cover each 1,000 sq ft for the initial treatment and then .5 fl oz per gallon of water for follow up treatments.

Bifen IT can be used to help control cluster flies indoors and outdoors. If the cluster flies have already made their way indoors, they will be harder to control because they usually hide in a wall void or other inaccessible area and are only visible when the house warms up. If the cluster flies are in an attic or drop ceiling or other dark area, a fly light would do a great job controlling the population. Using small fly lights such as the Fly Web in the house would also help to catch the flies. Spray Bifen IT directly on baseboards, window frames, door frames, and places where utilities (pipes, wires, cables) enter in to the building and any other crack, crevice or gap where insects can enter. How many applications per year are you permitted at 1 ounce per 1000 sq ft on residential lawns?

Mix 1oz Bifen IT per 1 gallon of water and apply as a perimeter treatment or broadcast treatment over the entire property. When treating for mosquitoes, it is important to focus on the undersides of leaves, bushes, trees, shrubs, decking, eaves, etc as this is where mosquitoes will hide during the day. Pay attention to damp areas and possible consider using BTI Mosquito Dunks in areas where you have standing water. Bifen IT used inside the home as a crack and crevice treatment will last 90 days and 30 days outside the home as a perimeter or broadcast treatment.

Bifen IT was used near raspberry bushes, what to do?
My wife sprayed the lawn and around the house with Bifen I/T at a rate of 1 oz/ gallon. While spraying she became concerned that she may have gotten some on our raspberry bushes and within 10-15 minutes of spraying she thoroughly sprayed them with clear well water. Should we be concerned about eating the raspberries as they are ready to be harvested?

It is typically recommended to dispose of anything edible that could have been sprayed during a treatment with Bifen IT.

You will need to mix Bifen IT at a ratio of .5 oz per gallon of water when treating for scale. Apply the diluted solution to plant foliage; also treat trunks, stems, and twigs. Please read the product label for further instruction.

I have spider mites in my dessert rose . Can I spray w/ Bifen in the summer / w/ temp 90 degrees ?

You can spray plants with Bifen IT on days with high temps but you should refrain from spraying during the heat of the day. Instead, restrict applications to very early morning or late evening. This will prevent the sun rays from scorching the plants while they are still wet.
