Great indoor fly light
By Philip in Lawrenceville, GA on 06/30/2010
I've been using the Flyweb Fly Light for several months now. The bulb has yet to burn out, which is a huge plus. I use it in my kitchen every night above the counter to trap flies that get in our house during the day. Just like the site recommends, I turn off all the other lights in the kitchen and just let the Flyweb serve as a night light. It's amazing the stuff you'll catch! We had a fruit fly issue one week and I eliminated the problem using this light for about three nights. The glue board trap would be covered with fruit flies the next morning! It also works great on house flies. If you don't seem to catch anything, try moving the trap around to different areas of the kitchen or home and keep it about 4-6 feet off the ground (which is where I seem to catch the most). I've plugged this thing in with a fly nearby and literally watched as the fly went right to the trap! Great convenient product for indoor fly control.

It trapped one fly and a few fruit flies. The others are still flying around the room.
It is important to note that fly lights do have to compete with other lights in the house and will not trap during the daylight because flying insects will be more attracted to light entering through windows and other sources. The key to this trap is having it be the only light on at night so there are no other lights to attract the insects. By morning, all flying insects for the most part would be trapped.

Just what the doctor ordered. I have kind of a weird reason for purchasing this. My 8 yr old Italian Greyhound, Baylee, has PRA (progressive retinal atrophy) and has lost about 60% of her sight. So now, when a fly gets in the house - she freaks out. I think she can hear it's buzz but can't see it and she goes "weirdo" on us. Kind of like how some dogs act during a thunderstorm. Needless to say - this unit has solved our problem. Our other dog, Bohdi, who has better sight than an eagle, freaks out when he sees us get the fly swatter out - so one little fly causes much trauma in our household. The Flyweb Fly Light is the answer to our prayers. Thank you for making such a great product!

Be Patient - It Works!
By Pleased in SE PA on 08/26/2017
After trying a couple of spots in the house, the sticky pad behind the light was filled within a week. The 2nd pad is now 1/2 filled. Gnats have decreased and no nasty toxic stuff needed. Nice to find something that does what it claims to do. :) Buy extra sticky pads.
Fly light works.

Knew I had a fruit fly problem but not how many there were until I got my lights, one for my main level and one for my finished basement. They work so well, I need to order more glue boards, even though I ordered 10 extra when I got the lights.

I've seen a lot of gimmicks and devises but this one works. It's not going to catch every fly on the farm but works very well.
By Js in Batesville, MS on 06/01/2017
This product is awesome! I live in the south and bugs are common in the spring and summer. Since I purchased this product I have not had an insect problem at all.

Skeptic and turned out to be a great product
By Kav in Jacksonville FL on 03/15/2017
As an entomologist was skeptic but was cheap enough to try. We moved into a new house that has lots of midges that were getting inside. After only 7 days the glue board is full of midges and reduced numbers and eliminated the annoying fly by encounters. Will be purchasing 2 of these for our lab to catch escapees that we rear. Only complaint is the light is fairly loose/wobbly and it's fairly large and only reason for 4 stars otherwise would be a 5 star for performance.
Flyweb fly light
By Marybeth in Stratford, CT on 01/31/2017
What a waste of money. I've had the unit plugged in for over two weeks and only two flies have been caught. Very depressing as the flies are still congregating near and around the unit.
Thank you for your feedback! Do you know what type of flies you are treating? Some species are more attracted to UV light than others. Also, is there any competing light source nearby? Fly lights are most effective hanging between 3-5 feet from the ground. Please feel free to call us with any questions or concerns at 866-581-7378 M-F 9a-5p EST.

We thought we had a problem. 500 fruit flys later...
By Rl, in Whitehall, Michigan on 01/26/2017
Sad but true! We had a few fruit flys every day for a few weeks. All the neighbors and people at church were talking about a tough year in fruit flys, so we wre not alone. But really...I know its going to be unbelievable, we still can't believe it! We're on our third sheet (buy the extra box) of white sticky-paper. We have had over 150 on each of them. Sad! We never saw more than 3-5 at a time in the kitchen. But undeniably there have been hundreds who have given their little lives to show us how big a deal this Flyweb bug catcher really is. Thanks for a great product. WE hope to be finished soon with our harvest. Imaging what life would have been like if we (you too) wouldn't have made this purchase. And the few hundred critters multiplied for a few more weeks or months...or...forever! YUK!!! We're going to buy the black sheets next time to hide the dear departed ones. At least, with the white ones we could easily see how important a decision we made. A correct one at that. Thanks again for the great product.
Thank you for your comments! We are always excited to hear our customers' success stories! Flies like fruit flies are breeding in decaying organic matter such as overripe fruits or vegetables, compost, or other discarded food. We would encourage you to look for a source of this infestation so that you can completely eradicate it. We have a great Inspection Guide to assist you with this process: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/fruit-fly-inspection-guide-a-512.html Please let us know if we can further assist you anytime. We appreciate your feedback and your business!

Cluster Fly Trap
By Tina in Hope on 11/15/2016
We have an annual fight with cluster flies in our house. The fly lights (2) are very effective in controlling the flies, without them becoming a nuisance in our home.

QI live in an apartment and have mosquitoes inside, there is no standing water anywhere, help!
I don't know where they are getting in.
AYou should use the Flyweb Fly Light for any flying insects indoors. We have no idea where the source would be, but for the ones that are inside the fly light works great. If they look like small gnats, you may want to read about drain flies or fruit flies, they may be one of those and not mosquitoes. Please contact your local cooperative extension for a pest identification.

QCan you see the dead flies from the front of the Flyweb Fly Light unit or are they concealed?
AThe flies can be seen on the glue board behind the Flyweb Fly Light when a large amount has been caught. One way to make the flies less noticeable is to choose the black glue boards for the unit rather than the white, as they will blend in and not be so obvious to passers by. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

QHow often do I need to change the glue boards in the Flyweb Fly Light?
AThere is not a set time limit on when to change the boards. You should change them whenever they get full of insects and not much of the sticky adhesive is available for new insects or if the glueboard gets too dusty and is no longer sticky. We would recommend checking them every 2-3 weeks and just changing the board as needed. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
QHow do you change the bulb in the Flyweb insect trap? No amount of pulling seems to remove the bulb.
AThe bulb for the FlyWeb Fly Light is removed by simply pulling on the bulb. Try rocking the bulb side to side as you are pulling on it.
QIs the Flyweb unit wall mountable?
AThe FlyWeb has a plug built into the back of the fly light, sort of like a plug in flashlight. So it plugs in any normal size wall socket anywhere in the house. It is not meant to mount on a wall in a place where a electrical outlet is not presently located.

QIs the Flyweb Fly Light available with a D.C. power source?
I wanted to trap moths in rice fields where there is no A.C. power source.
A Unfortunately, the Flyweb Fly Light only comes with an AC outlet. You certainly could use a product like the Catchmaster Glostick Flying Insect Trap (918) which is battery operated, and would catch moths as well.† Please be advised that we are only able to ship within the U.S. at this time.†

QWill the Flyweb Fly Light work if most of my outlets are near the floor?
These flies keep coming in around the windows and are all over the floor. I vacuum, and they begin coming back in ! Under each window, it's littered with dead or almost dead flies & sometimes lady bugs. I had Orkin, but that didn't help. The house is only 16 years old.
A Yes, the Flyweb Fly Light will work if they are placed in outlets that are near the floor. The flies are attracted to the UV lights. Generally, you will plug them directly into a standard outlet, ideally at counter height where the flies would enter the home. Each light will treat 600 sq. ft. or 20 lineal feet. It sounds like you may be dealing with cluster flies in addition to the lady bugs, both of which are overwintering pests which must be prevented in late Summer and Fall with residual insecticides on the structure where these pests enter. Please see our Overwintering Kit for more information and for products we recommend to use to combat these pests.

QHow do I get rid of gnats in my apartment that came in with plants that i have since gotten rid of?
AThere are a couple of steps you can take to get rid of the gnats. Without knowing for certain if they were just fungus gnats (if that were the case they should die off within a few days after the plants are removed from the home) or some type of other fly you will have to take general steps. Limit as many moisture areas in the home as possible and try to dry sinks out each night before bed and keep counters clean and dry. Most gnats and flies will look for and need a moisture area to breed and thrive in so eliminating as many of those areas as possible will help kill them off. You can use a general space spray product like Microcare to knock down any flying around in the home and kill them safely on contact anywhere they are. You can also put one of our FlyWeb Fly Lights up in the rooms you have the most activity or signs of them in. Its a simple fly light that plugs right into any standard outlet much like a glade air freshener and has a single bulb and glue board to catch them on and as the glueboard is filled you can dispose of it and replace it with a new one.

QCan you plug the flylight upside down?
The location of my outlet (under the cabinet) only allows me to plug the flylight upside down. Do you see any problems with this? So far it works just fine.
AAs long as the outlet fits, there is no reason that the flyweb flylight will not work upside down.

QWill your light trap no see ums? My office is by a lake, and they have gotten into my office.
AYes, the Flyweb Fly Light works for flying insects such as noseeums. We would also recommend Bifen IT as a general pesticide to spray inside the office. This dries clear and has a residual of up to 3 months indoors so this will protect against future issues, should they occur. You would spray this around the baseboards and cracks and crevices inside the room. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

QHow effective Flyweb Fly Light with cluster flies?
in the uk, we have huge problems with cluster fly especially with the mild winter we have had, but we have bats in the attic space, could this product help, will the light effect bats as they are protected?
AFlyweb Fly Light will catch cluster flies. No, the Flyweb will not attract bats. To eradicate and prevent upi also want to use a product like 565 Plus in cracks and Crevices. Also, be sure to seal up any areas where the cluster flies or bats could get in.
