Details

The compact Fly Web Fly light is designed for use indoors in residential and commercial areas. Its compact size and direct plug-in features allow the light to be placed in any standard electrical outlet.

Fly Web uses an insect-attracting lamp to lure insects to the adhesive trapping glue board. When the glue board is full of insects, simply remove and discard it; then replace it with a new adhesive trapping board. The glue boards are non-toxic and safe to handle.

Lures and captures house flies, bottle flies, mosquitoes, fruit flies, moths, and other flying insects.

Bulbs should be replaced every 6 months to be most effective. Glue boards should be changed every 30-60 days. Glue boards may need to be changed more often in high infestation areas.

    Great indoor fly light

    By Philip on 06/30/2010

I've been using the Flyweb Fly Light for several months now. The bulb has yet to burn out, which is a huge plus. I use it in my kitchen every night above the counter to trap flies that get in our house during the day. Just like the site recommends, I turn off all the other lights in the kitchen and just let the Flyweb serve as a night light. It's amazing the stuff you'll catch! We had a fruit fly issue one week and I eliminated the problem using this light for about three nights. The glue board trap would be covered with fruit flies the next morning! It also works great on house flies. If you don't seem to catch anything, try moving the trap around to different areas of the kitchen or home and keep it about 4-6 feet off the ground (which is where I seem to catch the most). I've plugged this thing in with a fly nearby and literally watched as the fly went right to the trap! Great convenient product for indoor fly control.

    Fly Light

    By Beverly on 06/04/2010

It trapped one fly and a few fruit flies. The others are still flying around the room.

    Expert ResponseExpert response:
It is important to note that fly lights do have to compete with other lights in the house and will not trap during the daylight because flying insects will be more attracted to light entering through windows and other sources.  The key to this trap is having it be the only light on at night so there are no other lights to attract the insects.  By morning, all flying insects for the most part would be trapped.

    Love it!

    By Shannon on 08/10/2010

Just what the doctor ordered. I have kind of a weird reason for purchasing this. My 8 yr old Italian Greyhound, Baylee, has PRA (progressive retinal atrophy) and has lost about 60% of her sight. So now, when a fly gets in the house - she freaks out. I think she can hear it's buzz but can't see it and she goes "weirdo" on us. Kind of like how some dogs act during a thunderstorm. Needless to say - this unit has solved our problem. Our other dog, Bohdi, who has better sight than an eagle, freaks out when he sees us get the fly swatter out - so one little fly causes much trauma in our household. The Flyweb Fly Light is the answer to our prayers. Thank you for making such a great product!

Q
How do you change the bulb in the Flyweb insect trap? No amount of pulling seems to remove the bulb.
A
The bulb for the FlyWeb Fly Light is removed by simply pulling on the bulb.  Try rocking the bulb side to side as you are pulling on it.

Q
Can you see the dead flies from the front of the Flyweb Fly Light unit or are they concealed?
A
The flies can be seen on the glue board behind the Flyweb Fly Light when a large amount has been caught. One way to make the flies less noticeable is to choose the black glue boards for the unit rather than the white, as they will blend in and not be so obvious to passers by. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Q
I live in an apartment and have mosquitoes inside, there is no standing water anywhere, help!

I don't know where they are getting in.

A
You should use the Flyweb Fly Light for any flying insects indoors.  We have no idea where the source would be, but for the ones that are inside the fly light works great.  If they look like small gnats, you may want to read about drain flies or fruit flies, they may be one of those and not mosquitoes. Please contact your local cooperative extension for a pest identification.

Q
How often do I need to change the glue boards in the Flyweb Fly Light?
A
There is not a set time limit on when to change the boards. You should change them whenever they get full of insects and not much of the sticky adhesive is available for new insects or if the glueboard gets too dusty and is no longer sticky. We would recommend checking them every 2-3 weeks and just changing the board as needed. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Q
Is the Flyweb unit wall mountable?
A
The FlyWeb has a plug built into the back of the fly light, sort of like a plug in flashlight.  So it plugs in any normal size wall socket anywhere in the house.  It is not meant to mount on a wall in a place where a electrical outlet is not presently located.
