    Q
Is Bifen safe for birds nesting in the infected tree?
I need to get rid of spittlebugs before they destoy the cypress tree, but I know there sre birds nesting inside. And birds often alite on the tree. Is this safe for birds? If not, can you recommend a product that is safe?
    A
Bifen IT is safe to apply if the birds are not in the area during application until the surfaces have completely dried. It should also not be applied directly on them or the nest. Once applied and dried it is safe for birds, squirrels, rabbits, pets, and family members to be in the area.

    Q
How do I use a hose end sprayer to apply Bifen? At what rate do I apply? Where do I buy a hose end sprayer?
I have about 9,000 sq feet to apply. I don't want to under or over saturate, so I am confused on to use a hose end sprayer.
    A
Bifen IT should be mixed and applied at one ounce per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. You will calibrate your hose end sprayer to disperse this amount.  You do not dilute the Bifen IT when putting it in the chamber on the hose end sprayer, you put the concentrate directly in the cannister and the tube automatically sucks up however much you have told it to on the dial and disperses it with each gallon that comes through the hose. The down side to using a hose end sprayer is it removes a lot of accuracy with your treatment and wont give you as thorough and even coverage as a hand pump or backpack sprayer would. Either sprayer you use, you will use 1 ounce per gallon of water. We carry a hose end sprayer and offer free shipping.

    rainfall after application
I just applied Biffen for mole crickets and it rained right after application. Do I need to reapply?
    A
Bifent IT is usually watered in after a mole cricket application so the rain most likely just aided you in your control efforts as the immature mole crickets are just under the soil. Info from the Bifen IT product label :To ensure control of sub  surface pests including
Mole Cricketsusing low volume treatments, (i.e. less than2 gallons per 1000 sq
uare feet), immediately follow the treatment with irrigation of the treated area with at

    Q
In a 15 gal sprayer can I mix Bifen IT with a weed and feed and spray just once to save time and water?
    A
Yes you can mix Talstar with most weed and feeds successfully for the most part. Most weed and feeds will have a small section on doing a test "tank mix" so you can test to make sure the products will blend together without issue. We do recommend doing a test tank mix to be sure the products will mix together without separating.

  • Asked by Tim from New Lisbon
    06/18/2015
    Q
Should I spray Perimeter or whole lawn with Bifen IT?
I have been spraying the whole lawn in the past as well as the perimeter. Is it just as effective to spray only the perimeter or should one spray inside of that like on trees and shrubs? Can you please help me on this question
    A
Whether you should spray your whole lawn or just the perimeter with Bifen I/T or any other insecticide is entirely dependent on what pests you are primarily treating for. For example, if fleas, ants, chinch bugs or crickets are your main pests, we would suggest continuing to spray your whole lawn. If mosquitoes and flies are your main pests, then focusing your sprays on bushes, trees and areas of dense foliage would be best. But at any time if you feel it gives you better control over all the pests in your area to treat the whole yard then that is entirely up to you.

    Q
I have an above ground pool with a deck around it and has become a breeding Mosquito.
There is a ditch around bottom of pool filled with leaves and is probably damp. Will the Bifen spray kill Mosquitos that may be breeding underneath the leaves?
    A
Bifen IT will only kill the mosquitoes that are sprayed directly or that contact a treated surface.  The best thing to do would be to try an eliminate the leaves and debri in the ditch to remove the breeding site for them and apply Bifen to the underside of leaves of trees and bushes as that is where the adults during the day.
