Bifen IT is not labeled for beneficial insects like butterflies. However, it is not really selective so it has the potential to kill them if they come in contact with a treated area. A better option would be to use Mavrik Perimeter. There is no lingering odor or visible residue, and when dry, it is non toxic and non repellent to honey bees. We would still recommned you apply in the early morning or late evening when they are less active in the area

If you are dealing with subterranean termites, you want to use a product that has a "transfer-kill" effect. Termidor SC or Taurus SC are great products to use to treat termites and prevent them. Termidor Foam can be used for active infestations only. All of the products are non-repellents and transfer back to the colony. Please see our Termite Control Page.

Bifen IT would be a good choice for grasshopper control. You should start applications before the grasshoppers have a chance to hatch for best control. You should thoroughly spray your lawn and water in the application with about a .25 in of water to help the product get past the thatch layer and into the soil where grass hoppers actually develop. If you already have grasshoppers you can use it at the highest usage rate of 1 oz of product per 1 gallon of water for the quickest knockdown. Use sufficient amounts of water to help the product get to the soil layers. It is safe to be used on anything non-edible in the yard and will not harm trees, bushes or flowers.
