Bifen IT is mixed at the rate of 0.125-0.25 oz. per gallon of water for bagworms.
Bifen IT is labeled for outside only application for fleas. You will also need to mix in an IGR to break down the reproductive cycle. Bifen kills the adults that come in contact with it, but then you still have the immature fleas growing and then reproducing. It is a constant battle without the IGR. We recommend Nyguard as it will last up to 7 months. Nyguard Plus would be a great choice for indoor flea control. For the most effective control, vacuum before treating and then everyday for the next two weeks, being sure to change the bag or empty the cannister immediately after vacuuming. A second treatment should be applied after 14 days.
Bifen IT is not labeled for beneficial insects like butterflies. However, it is not really selective so it has the potential to kill them if they come in contact with a treated area. To avoid contacting beneficial insects, apply in the early morning or late evening when they are less active in the area.
Per the product label, Bifen IT should be applied a coarse, low pressure, crack and crevice or spot spray to areas where pests hide, such as baseboards, corners, storage areas, closets, around water pipes, doors and windows, attics and eaves, behind and under refrigerators, cabinets, sinks, furnaces, stoves, the underside of shelves, drawers and similar areas.
Yes, Bifen IT can be broadcast across your lawn, sprayed on ornamentals, trees, shrubs and flowers. It should not be sprayed on edibles. You will use 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water.
It is safe for children and pets after the Bifen IT application is completely dry.
We would recommend using a product like Bifen IT. It is labeled for over 75 different pests. It is non-staining, odorless, and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Bifen IT is safe to apply inside along baseboards and in cracks and crevices around the home as directed on the product label.
Bifen IT is safe for ornamentals and for turf grasses, when used at the label rates. Apply at 1 oz per 1,000 sqft for most insects with a minimum of .5 gallons per 1,000 sqft.
Bifen I/T woud not be recommended for controlling bedbugs at all.

For most pests, you will use 1 oz. of Bifen IT per gallon of water, so you would need 4 oz. for your 4 gallon sprayer. Please see the product label for complete application instructions.
Bifen IT should not stain anything that water would not stain when applied according to the instructions on the product label.
We do not recommend mixing together two pyrethroids such as Bifen IT and a permethrin product. These products are too similar, and you could create a repellency issue rather than allowing insects to actually contact the treated areas. If you want to add something to Bifen IT for faster intiial knockdown, then we suggest a pyrethrin and/or PBO product such as ExciteR Insecticide.
Yes, Bifen IT can be used to treat fire ant mounds directly as well as broadcast over the lawn. Please view our How to Get Rid of Fire Ants Guide for step by step instructions and a helpful video.
Bifen IT cannot be used in animal grazing pastures. Essentria All Purpose Insecticide Concentrate can be used in animal grazing pastures for ant and tick control.
Yes, Bifen IT is safe to use on St Augustine. Be sure you are not spraying during the heat of the day as the water can magnify the sun rays and scorch your grass.
Bifen IT is not labeled for Bermuda mites (eriophyid mite) but we would advise to consider a product like Triple Crown T&O Insecticide.
Triple Crown T & O Insecticide is specifically labeled for the Eriophyid Mite and applied at 7.5 fl oz per 100 gallons of water (0.07 fl oz per gallon of water). Per the MITES footnote on page 5 of the product label, to ensure optimal control of eriophyid mites, apply in combination with the labeled application rate of a surfactant. A second application, five to seven days after the first, may be necessary to achieve acceptable control
