Bifen IT is not labeled for use in ULV or Thermal Fogging devices, but can be used in standard mist blowers.
Most of the Ryobi machines state in the manual that they do not allow for use of professional grade products which is what we mainly carry. You would need to contact the Ryobi manufacturer for the best advice on a product to use. The only option we have that might be an option is the Mosquito Beater Which is a consumer grade product.
Yes Bifen IT will kill spotted lantern flys. Please be sure to review the Supplemental Label for Spotted Lantern Fly for more information and complete application instructions.
There really are no temperature/time restrictions for applying Bifen IT. It can be applied at any time of day as long as you are not expecting any rain for at least 24 hours.
You can apply Bifen IT at any time during the day unless you want to avoid beneficial insects like bees, then applying in the late afternoon or early morning when they are not active is best.
When treating exterior foundations, siding, around windows, doors, etc using Bifen IT at the advised labeled rate of 0.5 to 1 fl oz per gallon of water, there should be no staining, discoloration or visible residue. Make sure you are shaking the contents of the sprayer when mixing and during the application to ensure the insecticide is completely suspended throughout the water, especially as the mixed solution gets low.

Bifen IT is labeled for grasshoppers. Please be sure to carefully read the product label for specific application instructions.
Avid 0.15 EC Miticide Insecticide (Group 6 Insecticide) can be used in rotation with Bifen IT (Group 3 insecticide) for Spider Mite control.
Avid 0.15 EC Miticide is should be applied for 2- 3 applications at 7 day intervals at the product label rate of 4 fl oz per 100 gallons of water (0.24 tsps per gallon of water) before rotating to Bifen IT for 2 to 3 applications at 7 day intervals at the rate of 0.25 fl oz to 0.5 fl oz per gallon of water per the product label.
Bifen IT cannot be used in ULV, Thermal or Propane fogging equipment and only labeled to be used in a pressurized hand pump sprayer, backpack sprayer or gas powered mist blower that provides larger droplets.

Bifen IT could possibly kill hoverflies if they contact a treated area long enough to receive a lethal dose. Hoverflies are actually beneficial insects that feed on other insects that might attack plants. They also are pollinators that help your flowering plants. We apologize that we do not offer advice/products for killing beneficial insects.
For Armyworm control, Bifen IT is applied at 1 fl oz per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft with repeat applications done every 30 days.

Bifen IT should only be applied to interior cracks and crevices quarterly (where floor meets the wall) and monthly to listed exterior areas as directed.
When using Bifen IT for armyworms irrigation is not necessary. You actually need to try to have no irrigation or rainfall for at least 24 hours after the application. Under chinch bug treatment it does advice that in order to optimize the penetration of the insecticide you can water the area prior to the treatment. If grass is being kept at a long mowing height or if the thatch layer is excessive, use higher volume treatments. It may be necessary to use higher application rates (up to 1 fluid oz. per 1000 square feet) to control populations made up of both adults and nymphs in mid-summer. Complete instructions are on the product label for each pest as well.
The Cypress trees will not be affected by Bifen IT when used as directed, it is known for being super gentle on plants. It is safe to spray onto those areas, and may return once product has dried. If your friend is applying the product, we encourage them to wear long sleeves, long pants, and a face mask to protect them while spraying.
We recommend performing a jar test to ensure they are compatible and test a small inconspicuous area prior to treating a larger area.
Bifen IT should be applied once monthly to the lawn or the Bifen L/P Granules once every 2-4 months as directed. Either formulation can be used as long as appropriate rates are used.
Only the applicator should be present during the application of Bifen IT until everything has dried completely and then others can return. You can treat the exterior once monthly and quarterly to interior cracks and crevices.
Bifen IT is not labeled for treatment of tapeworms.
