Please contact Control Solutions, the manufacturer of the Bifen Granules, to go over exactly how much was used in these areas and what harmful effects could potentially come from exposure to edible vegetation. They will be experts on their own product and can better answer what to do. You can reach Control solutions at 1-281-892-2500.
Bifen Granules will not harm ornamental flowers and plants in much beds. It should not be applied around edible plants.
No, Bifen Granules are not safe for grazing goats.
Bifen Granules are an insecticide granule that kills insects on contact: it is not a bait. Bifen Granules can be used as a drench on fire ant mounds. In this treatment, you are relying on the water to break down the granule and carry the active ingredient deeper into the soil. We outline both insecticide and bait treatments for fire ants in our Guide online here.
Bifen L/P Insecticide Granules must be applied dry to turf with a spreader and then must be watered in with 0.5 -1 inch of water. This product cannot be applied while it is actively raining.
Unfortunately, no Bifen L/P Insecticide Granules is not labeled for use in potted plants. You can use Bayer Advance 12 Month Granules as an alternative.
Bifen Granules would not be a good choice to treat for this pest. Talstar P will offer some control if applied to the trees, bushes and grass a few days before the wedding to lower the gnat population in the area. The morning of the wedding you may want to try to use a pyrethrin based product such as Riptide in a mist blower over the whole area which will kill anything that is flying around and help repel the gnats from the area for several hours.
Both Bifen L/P Insecticide Granules and Talstar PL Granules contain the exact same active ingredient, which is Bifenthrin 0.2%. Neither are labeled for any type of spiders. We would recommend using Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion Insecticide. It is labeled for various types of spiders, as well as other pests. You will need to spray in the areas where the spiders are. They need to come in contact with the product in order for the spiders to die. This can be used indoors and outdoors.
The good thing is that Bifen Granules does not leach into the soil. The bad news is that it is not labeled to be applied in a garden. Since Bifen Granules was applied with off label use, please contact Control Solutions 281-892-2500 for the best advise on their product.
Bifen Granules are safe for animals when used as directed on the product label. Animals should be kept out of the area while the product is being applied and watered i, but can safely return once everything is dry.
Bifen Granules recently had a product label change and the new label no longer lists springtails as a target pest. We recommend Demand G Granules to control springtails and they can be used as a perimeter application or over your entire lawn. You can spread the granules in a 5 ft - 10 ft band in the soil/grass around the perimeter of your home. You will want to use 2-3 lbs per 1,000 sq ft for best results.
Bifen Granules are not labeled for carpenter bees. You can use a product like Cyzmic CS instead.
