Bifen XTS is labeled for chiggers. You will use 1/6 fl. oz. per gallon of water. This can be used every 30 days outdoors. Chiggers normally prefer moist habitats such as swamps and bogs, rotten logs and stumps.
Bifen XTS will not harm pets or animals when used as directed on the product label. All pets and people (except for the applicator) should be out of the area while the application is being made, and they can return as soon as the treated area is dry.
Neither Bifen IT or Bifen XTS are true repellents that keep mosquitoes or other bugs away away, but it will kill those that come into contact with a treated surface long enough to receive a lethal dose. Key with mosquitoes is to apply to the underside of the leaves of trees/bushes where the adults lay during the day as well to the grass for added protection. After doing this you could notice a difference within a few days. To better repel mosquitoes and a few others you can use something like the Mosquito Barrier or Mosquito X Ultra.
Bifen XTS can be applied outdoors only. Bifen XTS is labeled for springtails and should do a great job for you outside. Bifen IT is labeled for interior crevice applications for springtails, ants, crickets and other insects.. Depending on how healthy the springtail is and how long it spends on a surface treated by the Bifen IT, will depend on how long it actually takes for each individual one to die. It could be hours or even a day. Also, if you are not treating the main nest, and only the satellite colony, you are only be temporarily fixing your problem. More will appear as they continue to migrate and you will need to fix the moisture issue in your home that is attracting the springtails as well. Until the moisture is gone or the main nest is found and eliminated, you will have an ongoing battle with the pest.
Bifen XTS is not labeled for corn borers. We apologize, but unfortunately we do not carry anything that is labeled for this pest. We would suggest that you contact your local cooperative extension office to see what they recommend.
Bifen XTS cannot be used in a fogger. It should be applied with a pump sprayer or mist blower.
There would be no valid reason for mixing Bifen XTS with Talstar P or Tengard. Mixing 2-3 insecticides together does not make either stronger and can contaminate an area making it highly repellent so that insects will avoid it and neither can do their job of killing the insects. If you want a faster knockdown product, you can add something like Exciter.
According to the Bifen XTS product label for budworms on ornamentals, you would use 0.26-1.28 ounces per every 10 gallons of water.
Bifen XTS can be applied once a month to the listed exterior areas.
Bifen XTS should not be applied at this time of year directly to azaleas for aphid and lace bug control. It is an oil based product that could damage the plants if not applied in cooler temperatures. We would recommend that you use a water base product that will be gentle on these plants and apply in the evening or early in the morning such as Bifen IT. Dominion 2L Termiticide Concentrate should be applied as a drench around the base of the shrubs/bushes in no less than 10 gallons of water per 1000 square feet. Direct application to the root area is best for lacebugs and aphids.
Bifen XTS should be applied 25 ft away from areas with water. Apply on a non windy day to avoid drift to water areas.
Yes, Bifen XTS is labeled for army worms. Be sure to read the product label for complete application instructions.
Bifen XTS is labeled as safe for use on non-bearing fruit and nut trees only.
There is no specific time to wait after applying Bifen XTS and seeding.
Bifen XTS will kill termites that come in contact with it, and a termite treatment with Bifen XTS will last for 3-5 years. For the best complete prevention and treatment, we recommend that you use Taurus SC. Please visit our Barrier Treatment page for proper application. Once in the ground, Taurus SC will last for up to 10 years. For either termiticide, you will use 4 gallons of finished solution for every 10 linear feet around the structure you are treating. You can treat any time of year as long as the ground is not frozen, air temperatures are not below freezing, and there is no current precipitation.
When using Bifen XTS, you will have to mix 1.6 fl. oz. in at least 5 gallons of water. When using a hose end sprayer, be careful to use the correct amount of water for the dilution rates.
The most important thing to remember when treating for mosquitoes is that they hang out on the underside of leaves and shrubs. You should treat all shrubs, bushes and trees, remembering to not only treat the main bush or shrub but also the underside of the leaves. Mosquitoes lay their eggs in standing water, so if there are any areas of standing water where you are treating, those should be treated as well with BTI Mosquito Dunks or Altosid Pro-G Mosquito Larvicide.

Oil-based products such as Bifen XTS can stain some surfaces. This is not usually a concern in most areas outside, but you should use caution when treating around the siding of a home. Most oil-based products such as Bifen XTS do have a "chemical" odor but it is not especially strong.
Bifen XTS is not a true repellent that keep mosquitos away, but it will kill those mosquitos that come into contact with a treated surface long enough to receive a lethal dose.
Bifen XTS used to be one of the better products for termite prevention but since the non repellents like Termidor came out it is not the recommendation. Bifen XTS only kills those that contact a treated area and can last only 5-7 years in the soil. Termidor will last for 10 years or more and will have a transfer effect so you can get more complete control of the colony below ground from those that pick it up.
Taurus SC and Bifen XTS cannot be mixed together. Taurus cannot be used on lawns at all. You can mound drench with the Bifen as directed on the product label.
