  • Asked by Lynn

    Q
Will Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus kill bamboo?
    A

Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate is not labeled for bamboo.  However, we have heard if you cut down the bamboo level with the ground and apply a Triclopyr based product undiluted to the fresh cut it can help kill it out. Bamboo is extremely stubborn, so it can take several steps to remove it completely. You can use Round Up QuickPro at the highest listed usage rate to help eliminate bamboo. You will be required to cut the bamboo down to a short stump and then apply the Round Up QuickPro. It can take several applications to achieve the desired results.

  • Asked by Gale from Soddy
    02/15/2018
    Q
Will the Bayer Advance Brush Killer Plus Concentrate kill small privet hedges?
    A

Unfortunately an established hedge is not easy to kill, but using a multi-faceted approach and a lot of persistence can get the job done. You should cut your hedge down and immediately apply Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate? with a paintbrush onto the stump. If the privet has an open, tree-like form, cut off the side limbs first and then cut the main truck as close as possible to the ground. If it is growing as a compact shrub, cut it at the base and then drag the whole plant away as one piece. Glyphosate and triclopyr are the two most effective chemicals to prevent the re-growth of privet hedges. One part herbicide is dilute with four parts water and the solution is painted over the entire surface of the hedge immediately after it is cut. To make the application of herbicide even more effective, drill a series of holes in the stump and fill these with the herbicide solution as well.

  • Asked by Vin from Crossville Tn

    Q
Is Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate inactivated once it touches the soil?
So roots of my trees surrounding the bushes in question will not be affected?
    A

Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate will kill or injure all woody plants that are contacted with the spray.  It is used as a foilar spray, not a a drench, so it would not be poured into the soil to come in contact with the roots of surrounding plants.   It is recommended to use a sheet of cardboard or plastic to protect desirable plants from accidental contact with the product.
