    Q
Can Bio Advanced 12 Month Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed II Granules be used in potted ficus plants to treat whiteflies immediately?
    A

The BioAdvanced 12 Month Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed II Granules is a great option for systemic and long term control of whiteflies on plants, however it will not provide immediate results. You also will still need to water this product in for the roots to absorb it and treat and protect the plant. You can use a watering can, bucket, etc to achieve this.

If you need immediate knock down of plants on the ficus you would want to use something like Fertilome Neem Spray with Py which will provide contact kill and about a 7 day residual. You could mix up a 1-2 gallon tank sprayer worth and spray the foliage until wet to achieve fast results.

    Q
Is BioAdvanced 12 Month Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed II Granules harmful to ladybugs?
    A

The product label for BioAdvanced 12 Month Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed II Granules does not list ladybugs as an insect controlled or any precautions regarding ladybugs. This being a systemic insecticide applied at the base of the bushes, trees, and shrubs and not a foliar spray application to the foliage, branches or trunks, this would not affect ladybugs through contact if walking on the leaf surfaces.

    Q
Will Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed II kill Winter Moth?
I have a large Maple Tree that is being devastated by the Winter Moth. I applied 8 pounds of Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed II - Granules last month, before the leaves even opened, and it accomplished nothing. In fact, there are many Maples in my neighborhood, and my tree has suffered the worst - by far. It's not that my tree was week or unhealthy, on the contrary, it just seems to be especially tasty, with the most caterpillars of all! The tree is too large for me to spray, and my wallet just can't take to beating a professional would administer to spray. Anyhow, at this point (late May) the leaves are all gone anyways. The Winter Moth will soon burrow into the lawn, and emerge as Moths in the Fall. My question: Do you offer any product (perhaps Spinosad?) that applied to my lawn will kill the Winter Moth pupae?
    A
Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed II is not labeled for Winter Moths. Spinosad is the recommended product and is available by Southern Ag Conserve Naturalyte Insect Control. Please read the product label for complete mixing and use instructions.

    Q
Will Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed II Granules treat Slugs or Fungus?
There's been a learning curve from xeriscape in Arizona to now Gardening in Florida. All of my shrubs and trees are plagued by something (except my blood leaf!); hibiscus has mealy bugs; crape Myrtles have white flies; oleander has scale and aphids; bougainvillea has slugs. All have some form of various fungi. Because of the vast attack I'm realizing I'm under - is there a possibility that Bayer Advanced treats slugs? And will a side effect of using it get rid of my rust fungus?
    A

Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed II Granules contains two insecticides as well as fertilizer. It will not treat snails or slugs. For those pests, we recommend a bait such as Sluggo Plus. You would also need to use a separate fungicide or a combination product that includes a fungicide, such as Bayer Advanced 3-in-1 Insect Disease and Mite Control Concentrate. A popular broad-spectrum fungicide for turf and ornamentals is HonorGuard PPZ, which is applied as a foliar spray on ornamental trees and shrubs.

    Q
Will Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed II Granules, help to kill a Fire blight infestation in Ash Tree?
An Arborist recommended the use of Bayer Tree and Shrub at the base of an Ash Tree which is showing dead curly leaf symptoms, which he diagnosed as fire blight. I don't see that listed on the product and can't find this information anywhere online. Will this product work to kill fire blight? If so, is now the right time to apply it? If not, what product and/or methods do you recommend in addition to pruning off the infested/dead limbs in early summer? This is an old, much beloved Ash Tree. I live in the Sierra foothills of CA. Thank you!
    A

Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed II Granules is not labeled to control Fire Blight. We do carry a few products that are labeled to control or suppress fire blight, however at this time there is no cure for it.  Here is a list of the products that are labeled to treat for fire blight.  Please read the following article on Fire Blight Management.
