  • Asked by Liz from Los Angeles, Ca

    Q
Why does Bonide All Season Horticultural Spray Oil restrict use on Southern CA orange trees to Jul-Sept?
I'm in Southern California, purchased Bonide All Season Horticultural Spray Oil for use right away on my dwarf orange tree and was surprised to see that it's usage is restricted to July through September, the hottest months of the year.
    A

Bonide All Seasons Horticultural Spray Oil is only labeled to be used during the growing season on oranges for the listed pests as that is when they are active.  The only other restriction is not to apply when temperatures are above 90 degrees as oils can injure plants due to the high heat.  You can apply in the morning to avoid the heat of the day

  • Asked by Mark from Hermon, Me
    03/28/2021
    Q
Can you use Bonide All Seasons Horticultural Spray Oil mixed with your Citrus Fruit and Nut Orchard Spray?
    A

The Bonide Citrus, Fruit and Nut Orchard spray contains sulfur, so you could not apply it with the Bonide All Seasons Horticultural Spray Oil. Mixing products like oils with products containing sulfur can lead to major damage and burn to the plant. If you need to apply both of these products to the tree, you would need to wait at least a full week between treatments to avoid any unnecessary burn or injury.

    Q
Can I spray Bonide All Seasons Horticultural Spray Oil on the hydrangea stems?
I pulled all the leaves as they were yellow and spotted. The stems have buds.
    A

Bonide All Seasons Horticultural Spray Oil can be applied to hydrangeas before the buds show green tissue and dormancy. You would use the higher rate in dormancy and reduce the rate to the minimum and increase the rate as that growth has hardened off.

  • Asked by Armando from Rancho Cucamonga
    09/06/2019
    Q
I have gnats in my grass. Can I use Bonide All Seasons Horticultural Spray Oil?
    A

Bonide All Seasons Horticultural Spray Oil is not labeled to be used in lawns so would not be recommended.  There are a few ways to keep the number of gnats down. You can invest in a misting system that periodically sprays a pyrethrin insecticide in your yard. This system is a lot like a sprinkler system. We do not carry the actual mister system but we do carry the insecticide that is used in it called Riptide. If you want to get something you can just spray you can try Talstar P. Gnats that land on the treated areas will be eliminated. Talstar P will not repel the gnats from the area nor will it kill the gnats that do not land on the treated areas.
