    Q
Will Bonide Stump Out kill holly volunteers by painting it on the leaves?
We have hundreds of holly volunteers on our property. I would like to paint the leaves to kill them if your product will do the job. Last year I cut volunteers, spraying black paint on the little stumps and volunteers out of the ground. Will your product kill hollies?
    A

We apologize, but there is nothing on the product label that shows that the Bonide Stump Out Vine Killer will treat for Holly Volunteers. Please contact your Cooperative Extension Office and speak with the Master Gardener on duty for more specifics on this issue.

  • Asked by from Desoto, Tx
    05/16/2019
    Q
Can I use Bonide Stump & Vine killer in a flower bed?
I have poison ivy everywhere and I am allergic to it. I have to completely cover up to work in my garden. Please help
    A

Unfortunately, post-emergent herbicides that will kill the poison ivy effectively would likely also damage the flowers. It would probably be best to cut as much of the ivy as possible and then spot treat with Bonide Stump Out Stump & Vine Killer .

    Q
Did I contaminate the soil by spraying the leaves of my invasive vine with Bonide Stump Out Stump & Vine Killer?
I sprayed the leaves of an invasive green vine that keeps coming into my prepared flower bed. Is it safe to plant new plants there while I wait for the leaves of the sprayed vine to wither and die?
    A

If Bonide Stump Out Stump & Vine Killer contacted the soil at all you would need to wait at least 6 months to plant in the area, or remove the soil and replace with new.  If you just sprayed the leaves and there was minimal soil sprayed it should be ok to plant.

  • Asked by Robin from Asheville
    04/28/2019
    Q
Can I plant new shrubs next to stumps freshly treated with Bonide Stump Out Stump & Vine Killer?
I have a bunch of Burning Bush that I am removing due to their tendency to be invasive. I will be applying Stump out on all of the stumps. I want to replace the Burning Bush immediately with a noninvasive native shrub, such as viburnum or witch hazel. If I plant them between the treated stumps, will their roots be vulnerable?
    A

Bonide Stump Out Stump & Vine Killer will not have any effect on a new bush planted next to a treated stump as long as the treatment was done directly on the freshly cut stump.
