Birds or other animals that would feed on insects would not be impacted by the Bonide Systemic Insecticide even if the insect crawled over that treated surface. Bees and butterflies however could be impacted by the insecticide should they get enough of it on their bodies or ingest enough of it from the plant. We highly recommend not using systemic insecticides on plants that are blooming if possible, or only apply sprays to non blooming parts of the plant to reduce the impact.
Bonide Systemic Insect Control is an insecticide, it is not meant to kill plants but it is also not labeled to be used in containerized plants, you can use Hi-Yield Systemic Insect Granules instead.

No, Bonide Systemic Insect Control does not have the same active ingredient (Acephate) as the Bonide Annual Tree & Shrub Insect Control with Systemaxx (Imidacloprid)
Bonide Systemic Insect Control (Acephate) can be reapplied as needed at 7-10 day intervals. The Annual Tree & Shrub Insect Control with Systemaxx (Imidacloprid) is applied once a year as a soil drench application.
