Not worth the money!
By William on 08/24/2023
I am a retired LCO and recently moved to Arkansas. I planted a new bermuda lawn a few months ago and of course expected crabgrass. I bought the single dose celsius and mixed at the high rate. I treated 2k sq ft. It took 2 weeks to see any results, which were poor at best. It also yellowed the area treated. I sprayed the rest of the lawn with Q4 Plus and had excellent results with no yellowing. I thought I would get yellowing from the Q4, since the temps have been high. Treatment was done early morning at the same time. Celsius is not worth the money and it is too expensive. Thankfully I only wasted $22.
Expert response:
We are sorry to hear your experience was not satisfactory with Celsius. Celsius only treats large and smooth crabgrass and works best at early growth stages on large and may require repeat treatments per the product label. For difficult-to-control weeds such as crabgrass, the addition of methylated seed oil may improve control if one was not added.

Works GREAT, but really, REALLY slowly so be patient
By James on 08/23/2023
Applied it on crabgrass that was on my Bermuda grass lawn. After 2 weeks, the crabgrass was as green and healthy as ever. At least it wasn't killing my Bermuda grass! Then I mowed my lawn on week 3 and by week 4, I noticed that the crab grass, which usually would be 5 inches tall after 1 week, was not growing although it was still green and alive. After 2 months, it is now clear that the crab grass is now dead and all brown. This stuff really works, just very slowly.

Don't use with prodiamine
By Tom on 10/06/2020
This is just an fyi- be careful with temps and Prodiamine. I used Celsius on St. Augustine for 3 types of Crabgrass, (at low rate). Then 1 week later used Prodiamine (at low rate) as pre-emergent. I'm in S. Florida and applied in evening once temp fell to 87 degrees and was low 80s overnight. Days do go over 90*. 2 weeks later turf is showing severe burning. I'm not sure which did it, but the heat and pre-m, I now have a problem. I'm really hoping it was the temperature. Label said apply

Great on clover, so so on dollarweed and buttongrass
By Engstfeld on 03/28/2020
I'm in south Louisiana. If clover is your problem, this stuff will take it out. Dollarweed is less affected by it, but definitely does turn it yellow and kills a lot of it. Buttongrass takes two applications, but. It does get taken out.

Suspect Celcius Killed Palmetto
By Andrew on 05/21/2019
I've been using Celcius wg for the past 4 years on mt st augustine grass that has patches of palmetto and floratam. The first 2 years of use had great results. However the past 2 years I suspect celcius killed patches of the palmeto. I replaced a large section of palmeto killed by celcius last year. Then this year more of the remaining palmeto located around the fringes of that patch of palmeto that was replaced with floratam last year also died immediately after applying celcius. Yes, admittedly something else could be killing the palmetto, but celcius is suspect being that only the palmetto died after spraying both the floratam and palmetto on the same day, sametime and same mixture of celcius.

For my Bermuda High Ph Soil
By Kt on 05/12/2023
Worked wonders!!! A coworker told me to get this since it's a new lawn and no pre emergent had been laid. Sprayed it in a 2 gallon container with surfactant, weeds turned yellow by the night and none are in sight. My lawn was full of them and is absolutely gorgeous now!

Seems to work
By Mark on 06/04/2024
My first use of the Celsius/Certainty combination on bermuda, so I tried it on the back yard in case I killed the lawn! It seemed like it took a while before I could really see positive results, but it appears to have been successful on a number of weeds after about 3 weeks. However, I noticed this morning after all the rain we've had lately that some of the foxtail is trying to come back to life, so I'll give it a 2nd application. No damage at all to the bermuda so far.

Good stuff
By Nick on 10/06/2023
Can't really go wrong with celcius wg especially for those with centipede grass lawns it doesn't seem to cause any stress/damage. I notice with this it takes atleast 1.5 to 2 weeks before I really notice it wilting the weeds but soon after that they start to die. I have also noticed it does completely halt the growth of the weed very soon after spraying which is nice. Seems to be controlling spurge pretty well which is one of the main reason I got this and it seems to do some damage to the crab grass although not as good as tenacity does.

Perfect for Centipede Lawns
By Mark on 11/01/2024
Had an issue with Chamberbitter (gripeweed) in my centipede lawn. Using a pump sprayer I mixed 1 package and Surfactant to 2 gallons of water. Sprayed according to directions and after 1 week the weeds started to die. After 2-3 wks the weeds were completely dead. The wait time for results will take 1-4 weeks so be patient. Overall, an excellent product and will use again.

It works!
By Matt on 05/23/2025
Bought the Celsius WG to kill out the weeds in an extra lot and give the bermuda a chance to grow. Specifically targeted carpet grass. This stuff smoked it! It was a slow kill (immediately stunted growth but took 2-3 weeks to see it die) so you have to be patient but I now have no carpet grass and the bermuda is thriving.

Great herbicide
By Ken on 10/04/2024
Celsius works great on st Augustine grass. It has killed the Virginia button weed that was taking over my yard without harming the grass. It has also killed many other weeds I don’t know the names but see them turning yellow. It takes several weeks even in hot weather to show that it’s working.

Effective Product
By Tom on 09/20/2024
Celcius WG works very well on St Augustine grass. I mixed one packet with 3 gallons of water then sprayed on clover. It started dehydrating the clover in 2 days. It is effective and strong. Do not under dilute or you will probably burn or damage grass. I bought more packets to treat the balance of my 14k sq ft yard.

Celsius WG Herbide
By Michael on 08/23/2024
An effective herbicide for broadleaf weed control in warm season grasses. Purchased an 8 ounce container, after using 2 of the single use packages. In most areas where broadleaf weeds were present, nutsedge was also present, used Image for nutsedge before applying Celsius WG. Applied Celsius during August in the morning when temperatures were below 85 degrees. Celsius is effective on many broadleaf weeds including Doveweed. Effects were noticed in a few days, it may take two weeks are longer to kill Doveweed. Sprayed this in a hybrid Bermuda Lawn. Bermuda yellowed, took several weeks to recover. This is a very effective herbicide. Gave a 4 star rating because of the cost.

Worked great on Floratam St. Augustine lawn
By Jeff on 02/14/2025
I had purchased two different herbicide for my Floratram lawn. I applied one two years ago and some serious adverse results from its use on my lawn, although the product said it was safe for St. Augustine lawns. Last year I tried another herbicide for weeds in St. Augustine lawns that specifically stated safe for Floratram lawns. I had similar results and had followed the applications instructions precisely with each product. After reviewing Celsius WG Herbicide's product sheet and a chat with DoMyOwn online staff I ordered it and spot treated first with excellent results and then applied it to my entire lawn, no adverse reactions noted and the targeted weeds died. Good product.

Celsius WG
By Jerry on 04/25/2025
First time using CWG on the Centipede lawn . Mixed per instructions and it works great . One thing worth mentioning is it doesn't work over night .It does take a fair amount of time and the results are worth it . Im using the CWG along with Certainty and Sedgehammer and feel like I have after 3 years of battling various weeds I have found the right combo to combat weeds in centipede here in middle Ga .

Dallisgrass
By Brandon on 11/12/2022
I used Celsius twice this year (2022) on my common bermudagrass. Once in late August and once in late September. Probably too close together, but whatever. After the second application, the dallisgrass immediately seized to grow any further and started to slowly become discolored. It ultimately died off (so I thought) by mid-October. We got some late rain and warmer weather this fall and somehow it woke the dallisgrass back up and is thriving with the rest of the lawn. Very frustrating after spending the money. But I will say, it will absolutely suppress the growth of dallisgrass for the growing season. Good luck.

Sprayed in Northwest Florida in May
By Brian on 06/29/2025
I sprayed Celsius wg per the broadcast rate listed on the label with a 4 gallon battery powered backpack sprayer with temps in the middle of the day around 85 degrees. The yard hadn’t been watered in 5 days or cut in two weeks. I was targeting Florida pusley mainly as well as the other typical broadleaf weeds common to our area. But the pusley was my main target. It rained on the yard about 36 hours after spraying. The yard is a mix of centipede, Bermuda, Bahia, and St Augustine, but had been taken over by weeds. Let me just say that this product worked amazingly. I saw wilting and an overall unhealthy appearance in the weeds in just a couple days. And slowly they died just how the label said. Also, the Bahia grass was extremely injured and died in most areas, which I was hoping for. I sprayed a second time a month later and I have no broad leaf weeds. Celsius wg has allowed me to begin the process of getting my yard back. Truly a fantastic product!

It Actually Works!
By Gee on 10/31/2025
Did my fall weed application with CelciusDG and it came through in the clutch. My biggest concern was the sandbur weeds, in which this product got rid of completely within 2 days. All your seasonal crabgrass and chickweeds were taken care of as well. Will be buying this product next season as well.

Been looking for this product for a long while.
By John on 09/17/2023
So far so good ( has only been applied for about a week. Been looking for selective herbicide safe to use in hot weather on my St. Augustine and zoysia lawn areas. Starting to see some toxicity on the weeds and no apparent affect on the lawn.
