The Chapin Professional Stainless SureSpread Salt/Ice Melt Broadcast Spreader 100 lb (82108) is a great ice melt tool. It features a 360 degrees baffle system that accurately controls the spread pattern of the unit. The frame is made from heavy duty stainless steel frame, supporting the hopper and the base. The unit has 2 14" fully pneumatic tires that can easily handle rough ground. There's an enclosed acetal gears that is safe from debris, and an application chart to help user dial in the correct application setting when unit is in use. Comes with grate and cover. This is not recommended to be use with granular fertilizers or herbicides.

Broadcast spreader Salt/Ice melt

This is a very nice spreader for salting pathways, Just what the doctor ordered. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because I deducted one for the grate that comes with it. While the grate is a great idea the holes are just a little small for rock salt and I find that you have to always be shaking the spreader to get a steady flow of salt. Double the hole size and this would be a five star spreader. I particularly like the worm drive instead of the old cotter pin to deliver the salt. Colud never find a replacement cotter pin that would fit so the worm or auger is a nice feature.

We run a residential snow removal service and have tried 2 other competitors salt spreaders only to end up disappointed. The Chapin spreader has proved to be a true commercial grade spreader capable of salting multiple properties fast and easy ! Great product ! Durable and very dependable ! We will continue to purchase Chapin products for our commercial and personal applications.

The warranty for the Chapin Professional Stainless SureSpread Salt/Ice Melt Broadcast covers parts up to a year. Please check out the Storage and Maintanance Guide provided by the manufacturer.

The tires on the Chapin Professional Stainless SureSpread Salt/Ice Melt Broadcast are rubber and not plastic.

With and without baffle
Per the manufacturer, the Chapin Professional Stainless SureSpread Salt/Ice Melt Broadcast Spreader approximate spread pattern with the baffle flaps up is 16 ft. With all flaps down, it is about 4 feet.

Chapin Professional Stainless SureSpread Salt/Ice Melt Broadcast would not be recommended to use with granular fetilzers or herbicides. The Chapin Stainless All Season SureSpread Professional Spreader 100 lb. (82100N) would be the better option for them as well as ice melt granules or salt.
