CimeXa Insecticide Dust will kill all crawling stages of bed bugs but not the eggs themselves. It will kill bed bug nymphs that hatch from dusted eggs.
CimeXa Insecticide Dust is effective applied in the dry formulation using a dust applicator and mixed with water and applied as a spray. It will last longer in a voided area when dry if left undisturbed and not removed. Apply at a rate of 2 ounces per 100 square feet. In attics and crawlspaces, apply at a rate of 1 lb per 1000 square feet. Use a handheld bellows, bulb or puffer bottle type duster to apply a light, visible film. A power duster may also be used.
Liquid Application: This product can also be used as a spray. Mix 1 lb. of product with 1 gallon of clean water. Apply approx. 1 qt of solution per 250 sq ft. of area to be treated. The product will be left behind after the water evaporates.
A 4 oz. bottle covers approximately 200 square feet. A 5 lb. pail covers approximately 4,000-5,000 square feet.
CimeXa Dust works by clinging to the exoskeletons of the bed bugs and absorbs the waxy coating causing death from dehydration. So yes it would work that way in your vacuum, but we would recommend emptying out your vacuum cleaner, and getting out those bed bugs each time you vacuum.
CimeXa Insecticide Dust can be sprinkled over flooring. Then you can spray Fenvastar Eco Cap mixed with Nyguard IGR over that. Be sure to vacuum before and after application and daily until you go 30 days without seeing any activity.
If you are going to apply both liquids and dust formulations in or near the same area, then we would recommend applying the liquid or sprays first, allowing them to dry, and then applying the dust such as CimeXa Insecticide Dust. Applying sprays on top of dusts will cause the dust to clump and to become ineffective. CimeXa Insecticide Dust will remain effective as long as it is undisturbed and dry.
To remove Cimexa Dust, you can simply vaccum the area and then rinse with soap and water. You should launder any fabrics that you think may have gotten the dust on them. You can use a damp paper towel to pick up excess dust during or after application.
CimeXa Insecticide Dust is safe if pets are not present during the application, it is used as directed on the product label, and the dust settles prior to their return to the treated areas.
It can be normal to see more activity after applying a product like Cimexa Dust as the fleas can become irritated and more active due to the product. When pests come into contact with CimeXa dust, the product clings to their exoskeleton and absorbs the waxy coating, causing death from dehydration. Cimexa does not kill immediately but instead will take several hours to actually kill the fleas. With fleas, the main part of your treatment is vacuuming. Vacuuming pulls fleas and eggs to the surface and also provides the stimulation the pupa (immature flea) need to exit their cocoons and expose themselves to the insecticides that have been applied. This could actually be the reason you are seeing more fleas in the container than before.
Cimexa is safe on carpets when used as directed on the product label. Pets should be out of the area during treatment.
CimeXa Insecticide Dust should not be applied directly to skin as it is abrasive and can cause irritation. If it does come into contact with skin, the manufacturer recommends washing immediately with soap and water.
If you have applied CimeXa Dust to your carpet, you can sweep the product in and then vacuum immediately after. Sweeping in the product will allow it to penetrate deep into the carpet fibers and vacumming only removes the excess that may be left closer to the surface. Yes, you can sleep in a room where Cimexa Dust has been applied to the perimeter. When applied to cracks and crevices, only one application is necessary since the product will not be disturbed in these areas. It will still be effective for the bed bugs that come into contact with it days and weeks later.
CimeXa Insecticide Dust can be used as part of a treatment program for carpet beetles, however we would recommend using an insecticide liquid or spray and an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) as well for faster knockdown and control. NyGuard Plus contains both an IGR and an insecticide, and it is safe to use as a crack and crevice spray and as a broadcast for listed pests. Be sure that you have correctly identified the insect pest to ensure that it is not clothing moths that you have.
CimeXa Insecticide Dust can be used to treat kennels, pet bedding/rest areas, floor and floor coverings, cracks behind molding and baseboards and other areas where pests may harbor. Do not apply directly to pets.

The Cimexa Insecticide Dust is pet safe when used according to label instructions. Pets normally need to be out of the area while you do the initial application and until the dust has settled. If you are applying this for bedbugs or other pests in wall voids, then most uses of the product would be out of pets reach. If you are using it carpets for flea control or prevention, just be sure to rake the powder into the carpet with a broom, and vacuum up any excess dust that may still be sitting on the tops of the carpet.
