    Q
Is CimeXa Insecticide Dust safe to use indoors if I have dogs?
    A

The Cimexa Insecticide Dust is pet safe when used according to label instructions. Pets normally need to be out of the area while you do the initial application and until the dust has settled. If you are applying this for bedbugs or other pests in wall voids, then most uses of the product would be out of pets reach. If you are using it carpets for flea control or prevention, just be sure to rake the powder into the carpet with a broom, and vacuum up any excess dust that may still be sitting on the tops of the carpet.

    Q
How do I apply CimeXa Insecticide Dust to a couch so that it is safe for myself and my kids?
I have purchased 3 bottles of Cimexa. I pre-treated my house before we moved in and now I have come across a couch that I really want. I want to treat it and make sure it's safe to bring inside to use. Please let me know the best way to do this.
    A

Here are the instructions from the CimeXa Insecticide Dust product label on how to treat furniture:  "Treat upholstered furniture by removing or lifting (if possible) the cushions and treating the undersurface. Treat the interior framework, cracks and joints of the furniture, and the folds, tufts and edges of cushions and other upholstered areas."

    Q
Applying CimeXa inside an electrical box
The application video on your CimeXa web page shows dusting CimeXa directly into an electrical box and behind the electrical box. The instruction sheet for CimeXa on that same web page says to not dust inside the electrical box. Which is correct?
    A

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.  You are correct that Cimexa should not be applied directly into the electrical box per the product label.  The video explains applying to the wall voids behind light switches and around the outside of the electrical box and is a general guide for dust applications, not specific to one product.  When you are applying to electrical outlets/light switches you would make sure to not apply inside the actual electrical components, such as where a plug would go into.

    Q
Should we use CimeXa between a regimen of spray applications, or wait until after the final spray treatment?
We are going to apply 3 treatments of Temprid SC to our home over the course of 3 weeks for bed bugs. We want to use a dust as well. Should we apply Cimexa after every treatment or wait until after the final spray is applied?
    A

CimeXa Insecticide Dust should be used at the same time you first apply Temprid SC as they are applied in different areas but are best used in combination with each other.  Beg bug treatments are done every 2 weeks not once a week, until you can go 30 days without seeing evidence or being bitten.  We have a great guide the explains How to Get Rid of Bed Bugs.

I am going to use Crossfire Aerosol and CimeXa Insecticide Dust for the bed bugs.

We would recommend applying the Crossfire Aerosol first and then once dry you can apply CimeXa Insecticide Dust using a dust applicator to cracks and crevices. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Bedbugs for a successful eradication program.

    Q
How does the Cimexa work outside? I have termites in the mulch of my vegetable garden.
    A
When pests come into contact with CimeXa dust, the product clings to their exoskeleton and absorbs the waxy coating, causing death from dehydration.  Cimexa does not kill immediately but instead will take several hours to actually kill the bugs but it is very long lasting in undisturbed areas and there is no known resistance to the product.

  • Asked by Itchyinindiana from Lafayette, In

    Q
How do you treat your mattress with CimeXa Insecticide Dust?
I have a futon with a metal frame and no box springs. I have put the mattress inside an encasement and DIY interceptors under the posts. Because of the metal slats I can't really apply a layer under the mattress. I would like to treat the mattress if I can because I am afraid that I might carry one onto the bed. Should I treat only under the encasement or may I apply it directly under my sheet? The product label just says "Treat the mattress and box spring..."
    A

Per the CimeXa Dust product label, "Remove bedding and take the bed apart. Treat the interior framework, joints and cracks in the bed frame. Treat the mattress and box spring, paying particular attention to tufts, folds and edges, and the interior framework of the box spring. Remove wall-mounted head boards and treat the back side. Treat picture frames, moldings, hollow furniture legs, cracks and crevices, along baseboards, and any areas with visible signs of infestation, including rugs and carpet. Treat upholstered furniture by removing or lifting (if possible) the cushions and treating the undersurface. Treat the interior framework, cracks and joints of the furniture, and the folds, tufts and edges of cushions and other upholstered areas. Do not treat toys and stuffed animals with product. Treat wall voids by removing electrical switch plate covers to allow access, but do not apply dust directly in electrical boxes. Apply about

    Q
What is the best way to apply CimeXa Dust to my bed sheets?
I am trying to apply CimeXa on the lower edges of my bedsheets so when the bed bugs come to feed on me, they'll have to crawl through the CimeXa. How thin of a layer should I apply?
    A

CimeXa Insecticide Dust is not labeled for application to bedding at all and should not be applied directly to bed sheets.  Per the product label, for bed bug treatment:  "Remove bedding and take the bed apart. Treat wall voids by removing electrical switch plate covers to allow access, but don’t apply dust directly in electrical boxes. Apply about ¼ oz of dust to each accessible void.  Please take a few moments to review our How to Get Rid of Bedbugs treatment article for more helpful tips on treating your home for this pest.

  • Asked by Sera from Yakima, Wa

    Q
Does the liquid application of Cimexa Dust kill bed bugs just as good as the dry application?
If the liquid application works to kill bed bugs, would I get more coverage in my apartment using the liquid application.
    A

Cimexa Dust can be used as either a liquid or dry form. For the liquid form, you will mix 1 lb. of product with 1 gallon of clean water. This will treat approximately 1000 square feet. Approximately 1 qt of solution will treat 250 square feet. The dry form will likely give you more coverage than the liquid form will. You should still only apply Cimexa Dust as a crack and crevice treatment as directed on the product label. Please see our Bed Bug Treatment Guide for more tips and information.

  • Asked by Hejin from Plano, Texas

    Q
How long after using Cimexa does it take to stop seeing any sign of bed bugs?
We applied Cimexa all over the house, every crack that we could reach, changed our mattress, washed and dried all bedding and pillows. After a week, we thought they we gone, but now they seem to have returned. What have we done wrong? Help please.
    A

CimeXa Insecticide Dust is a slow kill product and can take up to a week to kill an insect.  It should not be the only product used to treat bed bugs for this reason.  Using a combination of products is best.  We generally recommend using one of our bed bug kits, which contain Cimexa dust along with other products.  Beg bug treatments should be done every 7-10 days until you can go 30 days without seeing evidence or being bitten.  Please take a look at our article on How to Get Rid of Bed Bugs for more information.

    Q
Is CimeXa Insecticide Dust like a puff of smoke enough?
    A

A little CimeXa Insecticide Dust goes a long way if used as directed, applied with a dust applicator such as a B&G Bulb duster. We would suggest a couple of puffs around each electrical outlet/light switch plate and other cracks and crevices. You want barely to see the dust (no need for heavy applications). Please take a few moments to review our article on dusting for additional information.

  • Asked by Clayton from Russellville, Ar

    Q
Is Cimexa really as good as it seems?
We have bedbugs sadly. We purchased a bedrail didnt check it and now we are fighting a losing battle. Our walls are cedar plank not drywall so theres billions of cracks and crevices. Will this help get rid of them we already put covers on our bed used pressure washer on rails and place the railes feet in cans filled with water to avoid getting bugs on bed no i want them to die a miserable death.
    A

Cimexa Dust is 100% Silica dust, is very safe, odorless, and will not stain.  CimeXa Dust will last up to 10 years when applied to undisturbed areas like wall voids. It is very effective on bed bugs, fleas, and especially pyrethroid resistant bed bugs. When pests come into contact with CimeXa, the product clings to their exoskeleton and absorbs the waxy coating, causing death from dehydration. Be sure not to use too much dust in an area so that the bed bugs walk through it instead of around it.

    A

CimeXa Insecticide Dust is a great addition to a roach control regimine. It is applied in the wall voids and under baseboards and in cracks and crevices. It will last for up to 10 year in a wall void that is undisturbed. If you are treating for roaches, this is not the only product we would recommend.
