    Q
Does Crossbow Herbicide work well in wooded areas with poison ivy/oak without harming trees?
    A
Crossbow Herbicide is a vegetation management product, which means that it is not very selective - it will kill almost anything.  Although it will not harm a tree if it gets on the base of a tree, (when used at recommended levels) it will harm a tree if it is sprayed on the foliage.

    Q
Will spraying Crossbow near Soy Beans kill the growing bean plant?
    A
If Crossbow gets on the soybeans or within the drip line of the soy bean plants it could potentially casue damage or death to the plant. It is important to make sure there is no wind to insure the product does not drift on to the soy beans and also to make sure you are not over spraying and allowing run off to flow on to the plants.

  • Asked by Tim from Mcminnville, Or
    03/30/2015
    Q
After Crossbow is mixed with water, does it have a shelf life limit?
    A
Like with most liquid concentrates, we recommend that you only mix when you are ready to spray. Crossbow should be used within 24 hours of mixing. You should then rinse your equipment throuoghly. This will also prevent any damage in the long run to your sprayer. The storage shelf life of Crossbow Herbicide is 3-5 years if stored in a area that does not allow the product to freeze or reach over 80 degrees.

  • Asked by Marilyn from Salem, Sc
    03/27/2015
    Q
If your dog eats foilage, after it has dried, that is sprayed with Crossbow, will it hurt him?
    A
In most cases, once Crossbow Herbicide has been applied, there is not enough of the active ingredient on the plant in order to harm an animal. There are pets that do have more of a sensitivity than others to certain products so if your pet is one of them, we would recommend keeping them out of the treated area.

  • Asked by Donaee from Snohomish Wa

    Q
    Crossbow not killing tansy ragwort
I have an infestation of tansy plants in my pasture which I sprayed on a sunny afternoon. 3 days later some of the plants have brown edges but I expected them to be dead and they're still quite green. I am unsure of the age of the crossbow, and I used about 4oz of product for 2 gal of water. What am I doing wrong?
    A
When you are treating for tansy plants, it is recommended that you use the herbicide when the plants are actively growing. If they are dormant, Crossbow Herbicide may not be as effective. We would recommend doing repeat applications at least 14 days after the first.

  • Asked by Hugh from Polo Ill
    09/14/2014
    Q
When is the best time to apply crossbow herbicide to kill shrubs and brush in the woods.
Brush. The brush is mainly along the edge of woods. The brush is about an inch to an inch and a half in diameter. It's called wild honeysuckle, but I'm not sure if that is the proper name for it. Thank you very much for your help.
    A
Crossbow can be applied in-season to foliage or during dormancy. For best results from foliar applications, apply when foliage is actively growing.

    Q
    Will Crossbow kill my yard?
I'm attempting to get rid of clover and crab grass in my irrigated yard I planted last year. What kind of mixture do I want to mix the Crossbow with so it don't harm the grass but will be effective on the weeds.
    A
Crossbow Herbicide is not labeled to be used on home lawns so would not be recommended to apply.  Depending on the type of lawn you have, QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer would treat for both Clover and Crabgrass.
