    Q
I used Ortho Home Defense for Bed Bugs, how soon can I treat with Crossfire and have the Crossfire application be effective?
    A

We would recommend waiting at least 30 days between applications of Crossfire Bed Bug Concentrate and other insecticides.

For active bed bug infestations, repeat applications are required using a combination of products at 7 day intervals until you can go 30 days without seeing any signs of bed bugs. The combination of products is recommended to treat the various tiny cracks and crevices where bed bugs hide and harbor.

Please take a moment to review our Bed Bug Treatment Guide and Bed Bug Kits for the best combination of products for a successful treatment.

    Q
How long does Crossfire take to work on a pretty severe infestation of bed bugs in bedrooms? Can this be applied to clothing or only to cracks, crevices of beds, bed frames, mattresses, box springs?
    A

Crossfire Bed Bug Concentrate kills within 5 minutes of contact and leaves a 30 day residual. This cannot be used on clothing. If treating for heavy infestation or active bed bugs, it is recommended for best results to use a combination of products to effectively treat all the areas where bed bugs hide.

Bed bugs require repeat treatments every 7-10 days until you can go 30 days without seeing any signs of bed bugs or without anyone getting bit.

    Q
Will one treatment of Crossfire Bed Bug Concentrate be enough to fix a very minor bedbug problem?
I just treated my house with 13oz. Bottle of CrossFire. My apartment is smaller than 1000 sq. Feet. I never had beg bugs the whole year of living here but recently found one bug and had just a few bites. It's the beginning of an infestation but nothing big. Will the one treatment be enough? I'm almost 37 weeks pregnant so don't want to worry about retreating with a newborn. Thanks for any advice.
    A

We have no way to guarantee one treatment will elminate bedbugs because the the life cycle of the insect and how they hide their eggs. It is important to treat every 7-10 days until you do not have any new bites or new signs of live bedbugs for at least 30 days. Q
If I spray Crossfire everyday will I be certain to be bed bug free?
The exterminator came the day after my son came from his dads house and only found one in my whole townhouse in my couch where my son had sat before I made him go directly over to the shower and bagged his clothes and put newly purchased ones on. I still had him do every room just in case i vaccumed after and sprayed more crossfire. When can I be sure there are no more bugs?
    A

Crossfire Bed Bug Concentrate is NOT meant to be sprayed everyday. Please follow application rate instructions and do not go over application amount. Please see info below for bed bug assistance. Crossfire Bed Bug Concentrate is a great product that can effectively assist with bed bug removal. • Asked by Steph from Fort Worth, Texas

    Q
Can we half the Crossfire Bed Bug Concentrate next time we have to treat instead of using the whole 13 oz?
Crossfire is expensive for 13 oz and I had half a gallon left over after treating my house, why does it say to use within 24 hours? Is it because it is not as affective?
    A

Crossfire Bed Bug Concentrate should be used within 24 hours of being diluted and prepared for application for optimal results, according to the product label.  This is because the active ingredient will begin to break down, causing the solution to be less effective.
If you wish to use half of the 13 oz. bottle, or 6.5 oz. of product in your next application to yield only a half gallon of finished solution, you would also reduce the amount of water for dilution by half to 57.5 oz., which would treat 500 sq. ft..

    Q
Can I use Crossfire after using CimeXa?
If I used Crossfire and then after it dried put down CimeXa in the cracks and baseboards, can I retreat 14 days later with Crossfire? Wouldn't that ruin all of the CimeXa when it wets the product? Since CimeXa can last up to 10 years, I would hate to waste product or have to redo.
    A

Crossfire Bed Bug Concentrate can be applied and dried to listed areas on the label including baseboards prior to applications of Cimexa if dispersing underneath baseboards/carpet edges, etc. Here is a great article (including videos) with additional information on a successful program.

    Q
Can Crossfire Bed Bug Concentrate be used as a stand-alone treatment? Will bedbugs die after coming in contact with the residue?
I bought the Bed bug commercial kit but just recently found one bed bug. I followed the instructions but did not repeat after 14 days. So now can I just use Crossfire to spray furniture, baseboards etc.? Should I use Cimexa after Crossfire and if so will the Crossfire still be effective for 30 days even if it's covered with Cimexa?
    A

Crossfire Bed Bug Concentrate is a fantastic product for bedbugs and will absolutely die once crossing a treated surface. The reason you cannot use just a spray as a stand alone treatment for bedbugs is because they hide in other areas that cannot be sprayed or best treated with a liquid application. Repeat treatments are also key to being successful in eliminating them which is why so many customers fail to get rid of them quickly when not doing correct follow up applications. The Cimexa is used in areas you cannot spray, so behind pictures hanging on walls, under lamps, and in electrical outlet and wall void areas. If you feel you need to apply some dust in some areas you treated with Crossfire, you can do so, but the application should be extremely light. Nothing should be covering anything, just a light dusting barely on the surface enough to treat it. In general Cimexa when used for bedbugs is applied to crevices, not open surfaces you would have sprayed the Crossfire on anyway. You can read over our guide to go through the step by steps treatments and see what needs to be done to make sure you are eliminating all of them.

    Q
The crossfire I sprayed is leaving my hard wood floor oily should I mop or just wear socks and shoes
    A

It should not be applied to the entire surface of the floor in order to the effective as this pest hides in cracks and crevices etc. If it is discoloring the floor, you should clean up the solution and do not reapply on that surface.
