Yes, Cyper TC is labeled for Gypsy Moths (adults and caterpillars), but not their eggs. The females start laying their egg masses aroung July. Soon after laying the eggs, the female gypsy moths die. Their eggs, however, will hatch next spring if they are not found and destroyed. The Cyper TC can be sprayed along the overhang and will kill the adults and caterpillars as long as they come in contact with the residual of the product where it has been sprayed.
Cyper TC is not labeled to be used directly in sewers. You do have another product that could be used. D Fense SC states that it can as directed on the product label: For Commercia/Industrial Use Only Kills cockroaches in sewer manholes and related sanitary sites. Application Instructions: To control cockroaches in manholes, sewers, sewer cleanouts, floor drains and underground utility vaults. Apply product on manhole walls. Product may be applied via coarse spray using conventional airless spray equipment. Persons applying product in manhole must comply with CLOSED ENTRY requirements of government agencies. Apply treated latex coating with remote access application equipment.
If you are performing a full trenching termite treatment with Cyper TC, then you would reapply that treatment every 3-5 years. For spot treatments where there are live termites, you would apply directly where there is termite activity as needed. Please see our Termite Treatment Guide for more tips, information, and videos about how to perform a termite treatment.
Cyper TC would last in the soil for 5-7 years. Retreatment for subterranean termites can only be performed if there is clear evidence of re-infestation or disruption of the barrier due to construction, excavation, or landscaping and/or evidence of the breakdown of the termiticide barrier in the soil. For termite prevention you would not just spray the foundation of the home. It would need to be applied in a trench around the home to create a barrier for termites to go through. Cyper TC also only kills the termites that contact a treated area. A better product would be to use a nonrepellent like Termidor SC which will transfer back to the colony when the workers go through the soil and back down to the colony. We have a step by step guide that will walk you through how to do your own termite trenching treatment. You can see the guide by clicking on the link here.
Cyper TC is not labeled to treat for red palm weevils. There is not a lot of specific research that has been done on this particular pest, but through product and manufacturer training we have heard that a product containing the active ingredient Imidacloprid such as Adonis 2F would possibly work when using it as a systemic drench around the base of the trees. However, since it is not labeled for this specific pest we can not guarantee the results.
Cyper TC should not discolor anything when mixed properly. If you are concerned about sensitive surfaces, then you can test a small inconspicuous area, or you can stick with a water-based insecticide. We have a great Carpenter Bee Control Kit here which includes spray, dust, hand duster, and plugs to fill the holes.
No, Cyper TC cannot be mixed with with malathion. It is never a good idea to try to mix insecticides unless the label instructions clearly state that you can do so. Mixing insecticides can cause them to not work properly.
No Cyper TC can not be sprayed on asphalt or pavement to treat for fleas. No insecticides are labeled for that type of use. Apply to all the surrounding areas to treat for the fleas (ie lawn, ornamentals, landscaped areas, etc.).
No, Cyper TC and Suspend SC cannot be mixed together and used indoors for roach control. Cyper TC is not labeled for use indoors for roach control. We recommend that you use our one of our Roach Control Kits for indoor treatment of roaches.
Cyper TC should not be used around bodies of water as it is toxic to aquatic life. A good choice for general insect control on a dock around a pond would be Essentria IC3.
Unfortunately there is not a product on the market that is labeled or recommended for hookworms so we cannot recommend using Cyper TC to treat them. While some insecticides that are labeled for turf or lawn infesting insect may work, there has not been enough research to add hookworms to the product labels and none would kill the eggs. We recommend that all animals be moved out of the contaminated area for at least 1 year (during warm spring/summer months, longer during cool winter/fall months) and all feces be removed. Keeping the animals out of the contaminated area for at least 1 year should help control the infestation pattern. It is also important to remove feces from the new latrine area to avoid another infestation. Another option is to remove the contaminated soil and replace if you cannot keep out for 1 year
Cyper TC may be harmful to honeybees if they come into contact with a treated surface. We suggest applying the product when honeybees are not active.
Yes, you can use Cyper TC for this treatment, but you do need to keep applications at least 20 feet away from the well.
You should be careful that Cyper TC does not get on porous surfaces like concrete since it is very oily. However, you should be able to wash the area with warm water, or use some soap or a scrubbing product like mineral salts if really needed (be sure you do not use anything that may harm a sealed driveway if you have one). If you have a serious spill, you can view instructions on the Safety Data Sheet here.
