    Q
What is the best product for getting rid of waterbugs?
I live in an attached condo on the first floor next to the sewer and keep seeing water bugs. either belly up and still wriggling or crawling. I sealed up the best that i can but I need to lay product down so they can go elsewhere.
    A
You can apply a barrier spray such as Cyper WP to the exterior of your home around door frames, window frames, around the foundation and any where pipes, cables or wires enter into the structure to help stop these pest insects from making their way into your home.

My foundation is surrounded by a three foot band of decorative river rock. Can the product be sprayed onto these rocks.

Cyper WP can be sprayed on rock mulch. You should note that Cyper WP can leave behind a white powdery residue that can be noticeable on dark surfaces.

    Q
How do you control millipedes indoors?
I live in a townhouse, and over the last 6-9 months we have been invaded by millipedes. I suspect these may be coming in from an attached unit, but regardless, I'm trying to find the best solution to control this pest. I've been using Suspend SC for some other pests and had hoped this would control the millipedes too, but it's hasn't even slowed them down. What solutions do you recommend?
    A
Millipedes are usually going to be present when there is a lot of moisture in the area. If you have a lot of mulch near your house you may want to consider raking it back at least six inches away from the house. Also trimming bushes so that you can see the soil beneath them and so they do not touch the house will help reduce soil moisture and stop the insects from gaining access to the house via the bushes.  We recommend using Cyper WP around the outside perimeter of the home (especially under and around eaves, decks, patios, and window shutters), and inside along baseboards, in cracks and crevices, and other potential millipede harboring locations. It is recommended that you caulk and seal as many indoor cracks and crevices as possible to stop insects from entering under walls and from around cables, pipes and wires from attached units. We have also written an article with other tips that may help you with millipede control : Get Rid of Millipedes

    Q
What product do you recommend for spiders, earwigs and general pest control?
What product do you recommend for me? I live in New Orleans, LA. I am mainly dealing with spiders and earwigs. What do you recommend to treat my the perimeter of my home and foundation with? I'm looking for something with the longest residual, that could hold up against the hot, humid summer sun, as well as frequent rain. In addition, what lawn treatment do you recommend? Thank you.
    A
Cyper WP can be used indoors and outdoors for spider, earwig and general pest control. Cyper Wp is a wettable powder formulation which stands up well to moisture, heat and sun. When treating indoors be sure that all pets and other people are out of the application area and they can return as soon as the area is dry. The Cyper WP product label recommends 2 scoops of product per gallon of water, sprayed directly into cracks and crevices, under appliances, around door frames and window frames and in places where utilities (cables, pipes, wires) enter into the structure. Outdoors you should spray around the bottom of the foundation, on the ground adjacent to the foundation, door frames, window frames and places where the utilities enter into the structure. Talstar PL Granules would be a great choice for insect control in lawns

    Q
Can this product be used with a hose end sprayer?
I understand the instructions of use with a canister sprayer. Can this product be used with a hose end sprayer, i.e. Ortho Dial 'N Spray, to cover a larger area quickly? I was specifically thinking to use it the hose end sprayer to create the 6-10 foot barrier around house. I thought the powder could be per-mixed with some water in the sprayer's container, thereby making a concentrate. Is that a viable approach? What would the application rate per gallon need to be?
    A
Cyper WP and other wettable powders are not generally great formulations to use in hose end sprayer because they can clog the sprayer and most hose end sprayers are not calibrated for use with wettable powders. Typically you would want to apply 1 gallon of diluted solution per 1000 square feet of yard.  Each gallon would have one scoop of Cyper WP.  So, if your yard was 2000 square feet, you would place two scoops of Cyper WP in the hose end sprayer, then fill the hose end sprayer to the 2 gallon mark with water.  This should apply one scoop per gallon of water over 1000 square feet.

    Q
I noticed that you mention a white reside with Cyper WP on dark surfaces. Can you wipe it off?
I'm just wondering if wiping it off would cut down on effectiveness. I noticed a question (I believe with Demon WP) that stated that it shouldn't be scrubbed off of a deck, but that a hard rain shouldn't effect it.
    A
You can wash off the Cyper WP residue but you would also be wiping off the residual killing power. If you want to remove the residue it will take a brush and soap and water (not hard scrubbing, just a light scrubbing will do). Water alone will not wash it away. If a visible residue is a problem for you, you may want to consider going with one of our liquid concentrates such as Cy-Kick CS or Demand CS.

    Q
No scoop included in our Cyper WP.
What size scoop should we have to use? We have searched through the powder with a gloved hand. We are treating for spiders, so need 2 scoops per gallon. What would be the equivalent in tsp. or Tablespoons? thank you!
    A
We video tape every order as it is being packed for quality control. We went back and reviewed the video of your order being packed and can see that the order packer just placed the scoop into the large shipping box, it was not placed inside the Cyper WP tub. If you still have the shipping box you may want to look inside and under the flaps for the scoop (it is made of a translucent plastic). If you have already tossed the box you can use this guide: 1 scoop is the equivalent to 2 level tablespoons so you will need to use 4 level tablespoons per gallon.

    Q
Can I spray Cyper WP directly onto the soil as a perimeter treatment and it leave enough residual to work?
I've read through the questions regarding using the Cyper WP for scorpions, and several times you mention doing a perimeter treatment. I treat the block wall (cracks and gaps between blocks and pillars), but am wondering if I can spray it directly onto the soil. Will it leave enough residue on the soil so when the scorps walk across the line it will kill them? Do I have to be able see a white residue to know there is enough product to have an impact?
    A
Yes, we recommend making a perimeter treatment of 2-3 feet up the side of the structure and 2-3 feet out from the side of the structure. It will leave a residual on the soil as well. A residue does not have to be seen to mean the product is working. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Asked by Fred from Brandon Ms

    Q
What should I use to kill spiders?
I have noticed an influx of spider activity in my house
    A
Cyper WP would be a great choice for indoor and outdoor spider control. The active ingredient in Cyper WP is cypermethrin, which is known to be one of the top choices for spider control. Spraying Cyper WP will also help to get rid of the insects that spiders feed on and that will help to stop new spiders from moving in. Indoors, spray around all baseboards, door frames, window frames, under appliances, in closets and storage rooms and in areas where utilities enter into the structure. Outdoors you should spray around the bottom of the foundation, on the ground adjacent to the foundation, door frames, window frames and places where the utilities enter into the structure.  We have included Cyper in our spider control kit, which also contains glue boards to help monitor the infestation (and help catch the spiders too).
