    Q
How long will it take Demand CS to dry when applied inside for it to be safe for people to enter?
    A
How long it will take to dry will depend entirely on how heavily you sprayed the product and how well the air circulation in the home is. It could take 30 minutes up to 2 hours for a full dry time so keeping the people out of the home for at least 2 hours should be sufficient.

    Q
What is better to use to control sewer bug problem outside around house, Demand CS or Suspend SC?
I have been noticing sewer bugs (water bugs...EEEWWW) outside my house on the side walk or driveway when it is real humid out (1 -a few weeks ago & 1 -this morning) and I am worried they are going to come in my house. I was reading up on the different pesticides you have and all the reviews & I am not sure which one to get between Demand CS or Suspend SC. They both seem really good from the reviews but I wanted your opinion on what you think might work best.
    A
Both products have an active ingredient that is classified as a synthetic pyrethroid, so they really are very similar in the way that they work.  Suspend SC contains the active ingredient deltamethrin and is a bit more versatile when it comes to some pest treatments. Demand CS contains the active ingredient lambda-cyhalothrin, and it is micro encapsulated which will make it last a little bit longer in outdoor applications so would be the better product for you in your situation.

    Q
Some bird mites persist 2 days after treatment with Suspend Polyzone. Can we use Demand now?
    A
You want to wait 21 days to reapply. You do not want to over apply as it can irritate the mites causing them to frenzy. You can also use Sterifab as an on contact kill in the mean time.

    Q
Can I apply DEMAND CS via a Blag FLag Propane Fogger instead of using a hudson sprayer?
    A
We do not carry Black Flag Foggers and so we cannot make an accurate recommendation. We can say that in the foggers we do carry, the Demand CS particles are too large and have the potential to clog the fogger.

    Q
Does Demand CS work on anthills?
    A
Yes, Demand CS will work on ant hills and you would want to do a mound drench on each to ensure the entire colony is affected. Mix the required amount of Demand to each gallon of water and drench each mound with 1-2 gallons of mixed solution to ensure it penetrates through the soil to the full depth of the mound and affects the queen. Just spraying over the top can often only affect half of the colony, and as the queen notices the death taking place around her, she will pick up and move and shut herself off from the colony and start a new one. If dealing with fire ants in particular, we recommend using a product that will affect the colony more as as whole like Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait. It not only is a food source that they will take back and feed to the colony including the queen, but it also contains a birth control to ensure no further colony growth. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
    Using Demand CS around herbs.
We are having a professional company apply Demand on our yard to get rid of fire ants. I will dig up my herbs prior to the application. When would it be safe to replant the herbs after the application of Demand? Or should I not replant at all?
    A
We would not recommend replanting in the area that has been treated with Demand CS. You can apply the product around the herbs, just not directly in the herb garden.

    Q
The best insecticide to kill pine bark bettles?
I submitted another question earlier, so this is a 2nd question. I have pine bark beetles from time to time. I have been spraying the trunk of the tree with Permethrin 36.5% as high as my sprayer goes - maybe 12-15 ft saturating the tree. Is this effective. (I just ordered another 32 oz bottle along with my Demand Cs order) Is this the best I can do?
    A
The best product for pine bark beetles is the Permethrin spray you have been using. The biggest key with this insect is timing to ensure the infestation doesn't get out of hand. Once the tree is infested there isnt much you can do other than chop down the tree and burn it to try and prevent the current live ones from getting into any neighboring trees.

    Q
Can I use Demand Cs as a general out/inside spray?
I have been using Demand CS and mixing it with demon WP (9.5 gram packet) and .5 oz of Precor about 3 times annually. I spray all around the outside base of the house and the eves to create a 'barrier'. Hardly ever inside. It seems to work as I see practically no pests - ever. But am I over-killing here?
    A
You can not mix Demand CS and Demon WP together as they are both pyrethroids and will likely decrease the effectiveness of each other. Just use one or the other for spraying around your home and you can alternate the products every other spray if you would like. Using 1/2 ounce of Precor is neither a proper dosage to use, nor does it affect any insect other than fleas. If you are wanting to use an IGR to control the reproduction of other insects you would need something like NyGuard IGR as this will cover a large range of insects and last up to 5 months where as the Precor when used at the proper 1 ounce dose will only last 14 days. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
I have Demand CS, how much should I use to kill the tiny black jumping spiders?
I have used this spray already a few weeks ago, yet I still see the tiny jumping spiders crawling on areas where I sprayed. The spray definitely works on regular house spiders. What should I do?
    A
Demand CS is a great choice for spider control, but it will take some time for death to occur. For clean out or severe infestions of spiders, including those black jumping spiders, you would want to mix 0.8 fluid oz (24 mL) of Demand CS per gallon of water. Be sure to spray the outside perimeter of your home, spraying 2 to 3 feet up the side of the house and 2-3 feet out on the ground. Also make sure to spray all of your baseboards, any cracks or crevices, window frames and door frames both interior and exterior, or any other place where spiders could gain entry into your home.

  • Asked by Loy from Los Angeles, Ca

    Q
Spraying for bedbugs today, the exterminator sprayed my mattress seams and inside the mattress. Is this okay?
Noting a hole in the side of the mattress where the handles had ripped the fabric, he stuck his sprayer in and gave the interior a pump. Are there any possible health risks associated with sleeping on this mattress now or long-term, and if so what are they? He was careful to ask me to remove all bedding and pillows. (It is a very small apartment, and temporarily it is not well ventilated as the building exterior is being painted. I can maybe stay with friends for a few days if you think that's wise.)
    A
Demand Cs is not labeled for that use. We recommend using it as a crack and crevice treatment. Please contact the manufacturer Syngenta at 866-796-4368 for further advisement.
