    Q
Does Demand G Granules eradicate roaches?
    A

Yes, Demand G Granules will help to eradicate roaches. Outdoor roach control can be tough because the moist conditions in your yard will always attract more roaches from surrounding areas. You can apply a granular insecticide like this one to help limit the number of roaches in the yard.

    Q
Can the Demand G Granules be mixed with water to make a liquid sprayable version?
I have areas under a deck that I want to spread it, but I cannot get under there to put granules but could use a pump sprayer.
    A

While you would not be able to turn the Demand G into a liquid spray since this is not a water-soluble granule. You can use Demand CS which is the liquid concentrate version with the same active ingredient.

  • Asked by David from Bartlett, Tn

    Q
Question about Demand G Granules resistance
The Demand G label says that to avoid insects growing a resistance to the product I should rotate Demand G with products with different modes of action and avoid treatment of successive generations with Demand G Insecticide. How long can I use Demand G before rotating with another product? How long would I be using the product before interacting with a successive generation? I don't want to create pesticide resistant insects. I was going to order another bag for this spring/summer, but now I'm not sure if I should and go with a different granule product that kills springtails? Currently I apply demand G granules outside every 2 months between February and August.
    A

Typically as long as you are not under/over applying or incorrectly applying an insecticide, resistance is highly unlikely and would take long periods of incorrect applications to occur.  If you have not started to see signs of the Demand G Granules efficacy reduce or be ineffective, you could continue to use it. Should you wish to rotate to a different granule insecticide, DeltaGard Granules would be a great choice.

  • Asked by Chel from Kansas City, Mo

    Q
Can I use Demand G Granules after I already sprayed Cy-Kick CS for springtails?
    A
The Demand G granules could be applied outside the zone in which you applied the Cy Kick CS if you are trying to use them at the same time around the home and yard. You would not want to have the two products overlap in the same treatment areas. You can however apply the Demand G Granules in the areas you applied the Cy Kick CS, if you wait at least 30 days from the initial application to allow some of the Cy Kick to have time to break down.

    Q
How often can Demand G Granules be applied?
I'm dealing with a Springtail problem and have been using Demand G to help treat it. While it has helped, I'm still seeing a decent amount of them. How frequently can I re-apply the granules? Ideally I'd like to do a general lawn treatment once a month from April-August and then perhaps do perimeter treatments on a slightly more frequent basis (every 2 weeks). Is that acceptable, or too much?
    A

Demand G works through a slow-release process, providing continuous control over a period of 4 to 8 weeks. The key to eliminating a springtail population is correcting the moisture issue in or around the home as well as using insecticide products. Please take a look at our guide on How to Get Rid of Springtails for detailed information on treatment.

  • Asked by Fred from San Jose, Ca
    07/01/2021
    Q
Do we have to remove wood chips and weed preventing cover before applying Demand G Granules?
We believe springtails live in the soil under the cover for preventing weeds. On top of the cover, there are wood chips. Since it is a large part of our back yard, it is very difficult to remove the cover and wood chips. Also, do we need a spreader to apply Demand G granules? It does not rain except for a very short raining season (winter) here in San Jose, CA. Do we need to water after Demand G is applied?
    A

When using Demand G Granules around wood chips it would be ideal to remove them apply them to the soil and also over the wood chips. If this cannot not be done just make sure to use enough water to get the product down under the wood chips. This product is used in a spreader and does need to be watered in. Please refer to the label for complete applications instructions.

  • Asked by Chris from Fuquay Varina, Nc

    Q
Water activates Demand G Granules, but what if it gets wet again later?
So I water to activate and then wait to dry. What if it rains a week later after I already watered? Do I have to wait for it to dry every time it rains? My lawn is naturally moist all the time so I'm also worried about my kids running around barefoot out there.
    A

Once Demand G Granules have been watered in after the initial application, and dried completely, it will not be reactivated by rain making it unsafe for your children to be on the lawn.

    Q
Will Demand G Granules get rid of big black ants?
I have a big black ant hill inside some railroad ties on dirt in my backyard. Nothing has helped and I'm wondering if I can put this directly around the ant hill and it'll kill them?
    A

Demand G Granules is labeled for ants and can be applied directly to areas and ant hils at 1 to 2 teaspoons per mound then lightly water in. Apply lightly to avoid disturbing the ants. View the product label for more information.

An alternative option for faster kill and longer residual is Talstar XTRA Granules. This can be applied as mound treatments or broadcast applications. Please view the full product label for more information. View the full product label for more information.

    Q
If Demand G does not get rid of pavement (or sugar) ants what would be a good follow up treatment?
I have pavement ants getting into my house, I had a year and a half treatments from a paid pest guy to no improvement. I have treated 25-30 feet around my house 3 weeks ago now am seeing a few ants here and there
    A

If you are having problems with ants after granules, you can try a perimeter spray such as Alpine WSG. Consider looking at the Outdoor Ant Kit that contains an insecticide for the exterior periemeter of the home, sweet ant bait, granule ant bait and bait stations for easy baitng in landscape beds and outdoor areas around the lawn.

Take a moment to view our Pavement Ant Treatment Guide for addtional information (**please note some difference in the insecticides and bait recommendations may vary, our Kits contain the most up to date product recommendations)

Is Demand G safe for pollinators? Will it hurt the bees?
    A

Demand G Granules are safe for pollinators as long as they do not come in direct contact with them while applying. We recommend applying when they are not actively foraging & once dry they will be safe for them again.

    Q
I have a large amount of springtails on my wooden deck. They are everywhere, on the floor top of the railings.
I sprayed the deck with Bifen I/T and the springtails were back in a day. So then I sprayed with Taurus SC and the same thing. Would putting these granules between the deck boards onto the dirt below help? There isn't any access from the side of the deck, it's been closed off with wood siding to keep the chipmunks, etc. out. There is a 5' wide concrete walkway around 2 sides of the deck. The other 2 sides of the deck are against the house. What can I spray to keep them off the top of the rails and ceiling on the deck floor?
    A
Demand G Granules can be applied to the lawn as directed. Bifen IT can be applied around the structure including windows, door frames, cracks, and crevices. We would recommend exclusion and reduction of moisture/water on the property. They are attracted to moisture/water sources. Here is a great article on springtails. The products just help with relief but it is essential to address the moisture in and around the structure. If they are under the deck, you will want to inspect and address that space.
