For residential lawns, apply Demon Max at the rate of 0.33-0.65 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft in a volume of water sufficient for uniform coverage such as 3-20 gallons of water. With the updated product label instructions on products such as Demon Max, you should not spray the entire house. We do suggest avoiding spraing the glass window panes as Demon Max is oil based and when oil based products can be hard to remove from glass, especially if the glass is hot. Below are the new label instructions for your convenience. Please be sure to read the entire product label for full instructions.
All outdoor applications must be limited to spot or crack-andcrevice treatments only, except for the following permitted uses:
1. Treatment to soil or vegetation around structures;
2. Applications to lawns, turf, and other vegetation;
3. Applications to building foundations, up to a maximum height of 3 feet above grade;
4. Applications to underside of eaves, soffits, doors, or windows permanently protected from rainfall by a covering, overhang, awning, or other structure;
5. Applications around potential pest entry points into buildings, when limited to a surface band not to exceed one inch in width;
6. Applications made through the use of a coarse, lowpressure spray to only those portions of surfaces that are directly above bare soil, lawn, turf, mulch or other vegetation, as listed on this label, and not over an impervious surface, drainage or other condition that could result in
runoff into storm drains, drainage ditches, gutters, or surface waters, in order to control occasional invaders or aggregating pest.
Demon Max is an oil based product labeled mostly for use outdoors, with labeling for cracks and crevices indoors. Demon Max can cause staining because of the oil base that it contains. If you are looking for scorpion control for your home you could use Demand CS, Cy-Kick CS or Onslaught FastCap.
The shelf life of Demon Max is 3-5 yearsafter the release date and if stored in an area where the temperature is moderated and it is dry.
Its hard to say which one is better with out knowing exactly where and what you are treating for. Both are going to offer a good kill and a long lasting residual though initially Demon Max may have a faster kill because it is oil based. On the other hand because Demon Max is oil based it could stain old paint/siding and it does have an odor. Bifen IT is known to be super gentle on most plants (do not use on edible vegetation). Both products can be used indoors and outdoors and both products are safe to use in houses with children and pets.
Yes, Demon Max is labeled for fire ants. Per the product label you would want to use the Drench Method (Ant Mounds, Fire Ants): Apply 1-2 gal of 0.1% Demon Max emulsion to each mound area by sprinkling the mound until it is wet. Treat a 2 ft diameter circle around the mound. For mounds larger than 12 inches, the higher volume and wider treatment diameter (up to 4 ft) may be needed. For best results, apply in cool weather, such as in early morning or late evening hours, but not in the heat of the day. We also recommend you take a minute to look over our guide on How to Control Fire Ants.

When making an application of Demon Max, everyone except the applicator should be out of the area where it is being applied. Once the application is done the treated rooms need to be left vacant until the product has time to dry.
Neither Demon Max or Taurus SC can be used in any type of misting system. You can find all of the products we offer for misting systems here.
Demon Max is not really selective, so it could potentially harm benificial insects such as bees and butterflies. To minimize this risk, apply in the early morning or in the evening when they are least active, and avoid applying directly to any blooms.
