    Q
How does Demon WP insecticide compare to Talstar P?
    A
Talstar P and Demon WP are both synthetic pyrethroid products and work in a very similar way. The key difference here would be that the Demon WP is a wettable powder and as such it is able to stay on the surface of porous areas allowing insects to come in contact with it a bit better. That being said Demon WP also leaves behind a white powdery residue that is visible on dark surfaces. Talstar P is a concentrated liquid that is odorless, dries clear and is labeled for a huge variety of insects (including roaches) and areas making it a bit more versatile.

    Q
    Will Demon WP kill slugs?
    In a garden
    A
Demon WP will not work for slug control because of the mucus covering on the slugs. You can find all of our slug control products here: Slug Control Products

    Q
Can Demon WP be sprayed in the attic?
I have an attic space that is predominately filled with insulation (the pink cotton candy variety). Can Demon WP be sprayed onto the insulation without damaging it? If so, is Demon WP going to be effective against bugs crawling over the insulation?
    A
Demon WP can be safely sprayed onto anything that water can be safely sprayed onto (we do not know how water safe insulation is). Insects that crawl over areas treated with Demon will be killed. You will need to reapply every 90 days to make sure the product is effective.

  • Asked by Susan from Auburndale, Florida
    04/14/2013
    Q
What is the proper use of Demon WP around dogs?
do dogs have to stay out side after you spray
    A
Demon WP is not a problem to use around pets as long as you apply it according to the label. Once Demon WP is mixed with water it is only strong enough to kill small insects. You would not want to leave the jar of Demon WP open where dogs could get into a large quantity of it. It is always a good idea to keep pets and children out of the area while you are treating. Once the product dries, usually after 30 minutes, it is perfectly fine to allow pets and children back in the area.

    Q
what works better on German cockroach, tempo wp or demon wp?
    A
Tempo Ultra WP and Demon WP are both labeled for various types of roaches. They have two different active ingredients in them, which is the main difference. We would not recommend using just one product to control roaches. A bait gel and IGR (insect growth regulator) should be added to ensure that you are maintaining control of the roaches.

  • Asked by Kristina from Kilgore, Tx
    07/23/2013
    Q
    What am I doing wrong?
I used this product with an IGR. The first time I used 1 package to 1 gal of water (I also added 1 oz of IGR). I doubled both the next day when I came back and the house was still infested with fleas. We are moving into this home in the next few weeks and I can't seem to kill the fleas. I have fogged it 3 times and used Demon WP/IGR mix twice. What am I doing wrong?
    A
Using that much chemical is what you are doing incorrectly. Fleas did not appear in the unit over night in the numbers you are seeing them, so expecting to get rid of them overnight is unreasonable. Demon is not recommended for use indoors for fleas as you can only treat baseboards with the product and not all the areas where they will hide. While the Demon is allowed to be mixed 2 scoops or 2 packets per gallon, using more IGR than what is labeled to be used is only wasting product. You should only be spraying every 2 weeks for fleas with both an approved insecticide for indoor use for fleas and an IGR. Fogging will only kill the adult fleas that are jumping around while the fog is going off. Foggers are only effective while they are active and leave behind no residual and will not penetrate flea eggs. Please review our tutorial on How To Get Rid of Fleas Indoors to effectively, accurately and safely treat for fleas. This will give you the best idea of what to do to get rid of the fleas as quickly as possible. Keep in mind that even using the right products, the right way it can take weeks to months to completely eliminate a flea infestation if its heavy to catch all the life cycles. You can review our video on the bottom of the page for Home Flea Treatment Indoors that shows you the steps you should take as well. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
Spraying Demon Wp product indoors, is there any type of areas it can damage since it is water based?
such as floors, painted wood etc.
    A
Demon Wp is not labeled as a broadcast spray. It should not pose any damage except for the possibility it can leave a slight white residual on darl surfaces. Apply as a coarse, low pressure treatment to areas where these pests hide, such as baseboards, corners, storage areas, closets, around water pipes, doors and windows, attics and eaves, cabinets, sinks, furnaces, stoves, behind and under refrigerators, the underside of shelves, drawers and similar areas. Pay particular attention to cracks and crevices; also see Outdoor Surface Use.

  • Asked by Jennifer from Kissimmee, Fl

    Q
Can I use Demon WP alongside Invict Gold Cockroach Bait Gel?
    A

You can use Demon WP Insecticide and Invict Gold or another cockroach bait gel in the same treatment rooms, however you want to avoid spraying on top of bait placements or in areas where you are going to place baits. Your general rule is to SPRAY LOW and BAIT HIGH. To mix the Demon WP, you should use 1-2 packets per gallon of water, so if you were to use less water, you should still use at least 1/2 gallon of water for 1 packet. You could also choose a ready-to-use product instead of a concentrate so that you do not have to worry about mixing correctly. We sell a new product called Dos Flea and Crawling Insect Spray which contains both an insecticide and an IGR for control of roaches and other listed insects. Please see our Roach Treatment Guide for more tips and information.

    Q
Will Demon WP Insecticide work on the Brown Recluse as well as the Black Widow spider?
    A
Demon WP will kill just about any type of spider that actually comes into contact with treated areas. Demon WP will also kill most other insects (the spiders food source) which in turn helps stop new spiders from moving in.

    Q
    Will Demon WP kill tarantulas?
I have tarantulas in my yard and in the wash room. Will this product kill them?
    A
If the tarantulas are sprayed directly with the Demon WP or come in direct contact with the treated area, they will, given enough time, die. Demon WP does not offer an immediate knockdown, but instead a long residual. Spiders in general are harder to kill than other insects because their bodies are higher off the ground and they do not groom their legs(the part of them that actually comes into contact with the insecticide) and therefore take longer to receive a lethal dose of the insecticide. Spraying Demon WP will also help to get rid of the insects that spiders feed on and that will help to stop new spiders from moving in. Indoors, spray around all baseboards, door frames, window frames, under appliances, in closets and storage rooms and in areas where utilities enter into the structure. Outdoors you should spray around the bottom of the foundation, on the ground adjacent to the foundation, door frames, window frames and places where the utilities enter into the structure.

    Q
How often should I re-treat indoors for roaches?
I sprayed inside my home 2 weeks ago for cockroach treatment and Demon WP worked great. Last night, I began seeing cockroaches in my house again. Should I spray again?
    A
You can spray once a month indoors with Demon WP. We recommend you use Demon along with a couple of other products, an insect growth regulator to help halt the breeding cycle and a roach bait gel to eliminate roaches in cabinets, drawers and other hidden areas where spraying is not appropriate, to get rid of the roaches for good. Demon does work great but it cannot be sprayed in many of the places roaches hide and that is where the other products come in.

  • Asked by Kim from St Cloud, Florida
    08/07/2011
    Q
How long do you have to wait after spraying Demon before it gets wet (if it rains)?
    A
Demon should be applied when it is dry and should also be applied when it is not going to rain for about 4 hours or longer if possible.  Once an insecticide has sufficient time to dry, usually at least 2 to 3 hours, it is considered ready for rain.

    Q
Will Demon WP kill leaf cutter ants?
    A
Demon WP will kill leaf cutter ants that are directly contacted with the spray but will have no result on the ants that stay in the nest. Leaf cutter ants can be a difficult pest to get rid of. The colonies are large and the ants make their own food so poison baits only have limited effects on this species of ants. According to several university websites MaxForce Ant Bait Granules containing hydramethlynon are some what effective, though they will usually eliminate only about 30% of a large colony in one treatment and will need to be reapplied several times.  DeltaGard granules is one of the only products actually labeled for leaf cutter ants. The product label recommends treating the mound directly and lightly watering the granules in. Again it may take several treatments to get the desired results. We also recommend contacting your local cooperative extension office to see if they have any recommendations for products that have worked for other people in your region.
