    Q
What is the application rate of Dismiss NXT Herbicide for spot treating areas for nutsedge? I am not broadcasting, only treating a few areas as a spot treatment.
    A

Spot treatments are defined as 1,000 sq ft areas. If one gallon of water will cover a 1,000 sq ft section, then you would use the mix rate for Dismiss NXT Herbicide according to your turfgrass type listed in the Mix Rate Table on page 3 of the product label

The application rates range from 0.117 to 0.350 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft depending on your turfgrass type.

    Q
Will Dismiss NXT Herbicide control torpedograss in St. Augustine? The product label does not show it mentioned as a weed controlled.
    A

No, Dismiss NXT Herbicide is no longer labeled to control or suppress torpedograss. The label was recently updated with some new information. Instead, we would suggest carefully spot treating the torpedograss with a non selective herbicide such as Roundup QuickPro. You may reseed/resod areas as necessary after 2 weeks.

    Q
Will Dismiss NXT control creeping beggar weed (Desmodium incanum) in St Augustine?
Haven't had any luck with sulfentrazone products like RoundUp for Lawns, or SedgeEnder. I'm not sure if my St. Augustine is Floratam.
    A

Dismiss NXT Herbicide is not labeled for creeping beggar weed.  Blinside Herbicide is labeled for it and is safe for your St. Augustinegrass.

    Q
How often between applications of Dismiss NXT Herbicide?
    A

There are no restrictions on the Dismiss NXT Herbicide product label for when you can make your second application. Dismiss NXT should control sedges for 60 days, so keep that in mind when planning your treatments. We generally recommend waiting at least 2 weeks between applications for the treated plants to die before making another assessment. Be sure to review the label for timing if you plan on putting down any new sod or seed.

    Q
Can Dismiss NXT Herbicide be applied at the same time to kill actively growing weeds as applying Howard Johnsons Dimension 0.27G Herbicide for pre emergent control?
I am in the process of applying my last fertilization this weekend. I have visable weeds, applied howard jhonson dimensions a few weeks ago and my second treatment coming up. Can I spray a post emergent now as well?
    A

Yes, there are no time restrictions between applying a pre-emergent and post emergent such as Dismiss NXT Herbicide if you need to treat for actively growing weeds.

They can be used around the same time as directed on their respective labels.

    Q
How often or how many times a year can I apply Dismiss NXT Herbicide?
    A

Dismiss NXT Herbicide can safely be used on Bermuda and it is labeled to suppress dalliasgrass. When an herbicide lists that it will "suppress" a weed rather than "control" it, it just means that the research provided from testing did not kill a high enough percentage of the weed in one application to receive a "control" approval, which is usually higher than at least 80 percent. So usually it means you need multiple applications and/or other cultural or chemical treatments to completely eradicate the weed. Dallisgrass is a weed that is notoriously difficult to eradicate quickly once it is established. You can also use Dimension 2EW as a pre-emergent for dallisgrass. Apply at the rate of 0.234 – 0.350 fl oz./1,000 sq. ft. in however much water it takes you to cover the area.  You may need to retreat 4 weeks after the first treatment.

    Q
Is Class 14 designed specifically to impair rhizomes / tubers?
Is Dismiss targeting rhizomes / tubers specifically in some way, and if so, how? Is the action likely to impact rhizome / tuber plants neither listed as tolerant nor suppress or control?
    A
Dismiss NXT Herbicide combines two active ingredients carfentrazone-ethyl and sulfentrazone which work to inhibit PPO and are absorbed by the shoots, foliage and roots for superior control.  This works to control Yellow Nutsedge tubers, reducing future populations.  Dismiss NXT is a selective post-emergent herbicide which controls Yellow Nutsedge, Green Kyllinga, and certain broadleaf weeds by contact and residual activity.  We cannot say how this product would affect plants not listed on the label.  For more information you should contact the manufacturer directly at 800-321-1362.

    Q
Isn't Spartan Charge the same active ingredients and same strength as Dismiss NXT?
Is Dismiss NXT is really the same as Spartan Charge by FMC, but at a much more reasonable price? Why would it (Spartan Charge) not be labeled for residential turf grasses? The cost difference is significant?
    A
We do not carry Spartan Charge and are unfamiliar with it. Dismiss NXT Herbicide contains Carfentrazone-ethyl 3.53% and Sulfentrazone 31.77%, both of which are widely used throughout the industry.

    Q
Can you mix Dismiss NXT with Celsius on Floratam?

Dismiss NXT Herbicide and Celsius WG can be tank mixed together and be used on St. Augustine (Floratam) provided the tank mixing procedures are followed per the product labels.

Treated turfgrass will recover with new growth. Discolored leaf tissue will be removed with mowing.
