    Q
How long do I wait before applying Nitrogen fertilizer after I have applied Eagle 20EW to my Bermuda lawn?
I am using Eagle 20EW in my Bermuda lawn to treat dollar spot. I read that dollar spot can also respond well to nitrogen. How long should I wait to apply nitrogen fertilizer after my application of Eagle 20EW? It is in safe to apply Eagle 20EW when day time temps are in the 90s so long as the temps are 80 or below at application time?
    A

You can apply fertilizer and fungicide such as Eagle 20EW at or near the same time as long as you are not treating a disease which you know could be worsened with fertilizer applications, such as brown patch. If you have temperaturese over 90 degrees during the day, then you want to make your applications in the morning or evening when temperatures are cooler.

  • Asked by David from New Milfird, Ct

    Q
Can you mix Eagle 20EW Specialty Fungicide with Subdue MAXX Fungicide?
I have pythium blight and dollar spot in my lawn and would like to mix the two. Is it possible?
    A

It is possible to mix two fungicides together as long as they have different active ingredients and modes of action. You could mix Subdue MAXX Fungicide (targeting the pythium blight) and Eagle 20 EW (targeting the dollar spot) for overall treatment. Just be sure to follow the rates on each product label exactly so that you are applying the correct amount of product and at the correct intervals. When treating dollar spot, it is very important to rotate the fungicides used, so you could rotate the Eagle 20EW with a different herbicide, such as Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide with 14.3% Propiconazole. There are some fungicides which will target both diseases, although we are not sure which is more prevalent in your yard. You can also view more information about dollar spot in our Dollar Spot Guide here. Both of these diseases will flourish with lots of moisture, so try to avoid over-watering to decrease the conditions that favor these diseases.

    Q
Does Eagle 20EW Specialty Fungicide enhanced with the use of a surfactant?
Does this product require the use of a non-ionic surfactant? Will it help? Or I guess a better answer is, will it hurt? I know that some herbicides (e.g. Sedgehammer) actually state NOT to use a surfactant.
    A

The Eagle 20EW label does not state on the label to use a surfactant for the application therefore we do not see the reason to do so.

    Q
What is the mixing ratio per gallon of water when treating for Dollar Spot in Tall Fescue?
    A

When applying Eagle 20EW for dollar spot you will need to apply 1oz of product per 1000 sq. ft. of area being treated. There is no specific mixing ratio of product to water, as water is just the carrier for this product. You will need to calibrate your sprayer by measuring off a 1000 sq. ft. area to determine how much water it will take to cover that much space, you will then mix in 1oz. of Eagle 20EW in the amount of water it takes to cover that area. Please follow label for further instruction.

    Q
Should Eagle 20EW Specialty Fungicide be applied to only dry grass?
    A

Ideally, Eagle 20EW should be applied and dry prior to any rainfall to be effective. Excessive rainfall could cause a lack of performance. We would recommend you reapply the product when you are not expecting rain for at least 24 hrs.

  • Asked by Marcia from Asheboro, Nc

    Q
What is the best treatment for Powdery Mildew on Crepe Myrtles?
Last year our crepe myrtles developed powdery mildew and we had few blooms. We sprayed a Natural product from Lowes on it, removed all of the pine straw under them and resprayed this spring as they were beginning to leaf out. We resprayed again when they were fully leafed out. Now, the trunks are black, the leaves are curled and black and once again we have few blooms. What is the best product to buy?
    A

Eagle 20EW is labeled to treat for Powdery Mildew on Crepe Myrles using at 1.2fl oz per 1,000sq feet. To determine how much water you will need to cover 1,000 square feet, follow these procedures:

    * Measure and mark off a 10ft wide by 100ft long area.

    * Fill 1 gallon sprayer with plain water

    * Using consistant and even strokes, spray water to cover the marked off area.

    * Look and see how much water it took you to fully cover the area and that is how much water you add to the 1.2fl ounces of Eagle 20EW (1/2 gallon, 1 gallon, etc)

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

I just sprayed my roses in sunny weather. When I was done, a "pop up" thunderstorm, typical for Houston, moved through and dumped rain on them about 20 minutes after I was done spraying. I looked at the label but couldn't seem to find any mention of this.

    Q
How long should I wait to see results on lawn after applying Eagle 20EW Specialty Fungicide?
Sprayed Eagle 20EW on lawn for red thread fungus. How long does it take to see the results of a nicer lawn?
    A

The amount of time it takes to see results with Eagle 20 EW Fungicide depends on the disease. We generally recommend doing treatments every 14-21 days during the times when the disease is favorable. Do not apply more than 13.8 fl. oz. of Eagle 20 EW per 1000 square feet per year.

We would also recommend finding out what exactly is causing the fungus in your lawn. Focus especially on proper fertilization, watering, and mowing. Following a lawn care schedule that caters to your particular type of turf will help to keep it healthy and looking its best.
