    Q
    Is ExciteR Insecticide a repellent?
Will adding this product to a non-repellent make it a repellent?
    A

ExciteR Insecticide will give you a fast knockdown of pests and is somewhat of a repellent. It has a very short residual and breaks down a lot more quickly than an insecticide that is a non-repellent, so this would not have any effect on the non-repellency of another product.

    Q
Can I mix Temprid SC and ExciteR for bed bug treatments?
    A

Yes, Temprid SC and ExciteR Insecticide can be mixed together to treat for bed bugs.  ExciteR can be mixed with whatever residual insecticide you are already using for bed bugs to give a quicker knock down of bed bugs in the area. ExciteR is gone after it dries so you would not want to use it alone to try and eliminate a bed bug infestation.  You may want to take a look at our Bed Bug Control Guide for more tips on doing a complete bed bug treatment.

  • Asked by Rickey from Chicago, Il
    01/25/2018
    Q
How long does it take for the ExciteR Insecticide to dry?
    A

ExciteR Insecticide is designed as a contact kill and is active when it is wet. Once the application is dry, usually about 30 min to an hour, there will very little residual effect, if any. Since this is a contact and flushing agent, you would use ExciteR as needed, and the best reapplication timing will depend on what pest you are treating.

  • Asked by Nita
    07/20/2010
    Q
How often can you spray your home with this ExciteR, if you are trying to get rid of roaches?
Is weekly to much? Can you spray appliances?
    A
You can apply Exciter once every seven days indoors. You cannot spray appliances with Exciter, but you can spray under appliances. Exciter does not offer a residual so you must spray the roaches directly to be effective. Exciter works best for roach control when it is used in combination with a residual insecticide.  We usually recommend using a residual insecticide, a roach bait gel and an insect growth regulator for fast effective roach control. Please look at our roach control kit #2 as it contains all of the products mentioned above.

    Q
Can Prentiss ExciteR stain vinyl siding? If yes, what product will remove stain?
    A
ExciteR is not known to stain most siding. As with all insecticides, we still recommend spraying a small inconspicuous area to see if staining occurs. If staining does occur, we recommend that you do not use that specific product on your home. Usually, the only time staining occurs with insecticide products is if the siding is old.

  • Asked by Trevor from San Diego, Ca
    10/12/2011
    Q
What is the application rate, and can I add this directly to my nutrient water for my plants feed?
Looking for something to add to my hydroponic grow system to keep springtails & fungus gnats at bay
    A
Exciter is not labeled to be used in any type of irrigation system and it is not labeled for springtails. Without knowing what type of plants you are growing we do not know what type of product to recommend for your use. We recommend you call your local cooperative extension office and speak directly with the master gardener on staff. Master gardeners are experts on the plants and insects in your region and they can usually recommend the best product for your needs.

  • Asked by Colleen from Van Nuys, Ca

    Q
Will ExciteR kill the moth larvae?
One in my loft bedroom and one in my living room. My son always keeps his door shut and I have only seen one moth in there. I have the one rug wrapped in plastic with moth balls outside in the sun. I will do the same to the larger one this weekend. I need to know if this will kill the larvae or am I going to have to get rid of the very expensive rugs? I have sanitized the loft and will finish the living room and son's bedroom and closet this weekend and will get some cedar and lavender for his room. Should I steam clean the whole apt rugs? They are the cheap apt rugs. I live in California. I told my mgr about it she doesn't seem too concerned. The cheap carpet is loose in some areas from the dining room marble floor to where the carpet meets. The carpet layers for the apt will be here next week to check it out. Also do these moths make a web like a spider?
    A
There are some moths called webbing clothes moths that do indeed make a webbing of sorts that they wrap themselves in. You should steam clean all carpets and rugs to help kill any larvae that are left behind. If you use a high quality steamer that reaches temperatures over 140 degrees you can be sure that the larvae will be killed. ExciteR will eliminate most insects when they are sprayed directly with the product. You should spray after you steam clean. Most folks do not have to get rid of their rugs. We recommend you contact an oriental rug dealer to learn more about caring for the rugs to avoid this type of problem in the future.

  • Asked by Karima from Bergen, Nj

    Q
How long does ExciteR Insecticide last indoor and outdoor?
    A

ExciteR will offer a fast knockdown of the insects present at the time of the application but it will not leave a long lasting residual. You may want to consider mixing ExciteR with an insecticide like Talstar to have a fast knockdown of the insects present and a lasting residual to help control the new insects that come into the area.

  • Asked by Raymond from Norman, Oklahoma

    Q
Can I mix ExciteR with Zenprox EC?
I have read that Zenprox EC is a non-repellent. But I understand that ExciteR is. So should they be mixed?
    A

You really would not need to mix ExciteR or a similar knockdown agent with Zenprox EC. Zenprox will do a great job killing listed insects on contact. Keep in mind that Zenprox EC is for indoor use. If you were using a different product outdoors, then you could potentially mix ExciteR Insecticide with it for quick knockdown.

    Q
If i mix kerosene with bed bug pesticide what would happen?
    A

We do not recommed mixing kerosene with bedbug products for applications indoors. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article/videos on How to Get Rid of Bedbugs for a successful eradication program. We do offer Bedbug Kits that offer products to perform a treatment along with the non-chemical methods for treatment. The applications for this insect require multiple products and multiple applications for elimination.
