    You can consider using Hi-Yield Turf & Ornamental Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension which is labeled for lespedeza and also for spotted spurge as a pre-emergent. Make sure to reach to your local extension office so you know when the best timing is to apply in your area.

    Can Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery be used on dormant Zoysiagrass in winter to control weeds? If not, when is the best time to apply?

    Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery should be applied in late summer to early fall, in early spring, or anytime prior to germination of target weeds. We recommend contacting your local cooperative extension office to determine the correct application timing as this will vary depending on your specific region and what weed(s) you are targeting.

    Will Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery work on sandburs?
    A
    Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery is not labeled for sandbur/grass burs. It is labeled for burweed which is similar but not the same weed. Pendulum 2G Herbicide or Dimension Herbicide would be better pre emergent herbicides to help prevent sandbur from germinating.

    Per this article on Sandbur & Grassburs in Turfgrass by the Texas A&M University Extension Office, applications should be done in late fall and early spring when soil temperatures (not air temperatures) reach 52 degrees.

    Can Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery be applied to St. Augustine lawns in Texas?

    Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery can be used on St. Augustine turfgrass for pre emergent control of listed weeds on the product label at the application rate of 4.6 to 5.7 lb per 1000 sq. ft. Please view the Weeds Controlled Section on page 2 of the product label for specific rates depending on your target weed(s). 

    Fall Pre emergent applications should be applied when soil temperatures drop to 70 degrees and continue to drop but before the 1st frost of the season. Early Spring pre emergent applicaitons should be applied when soil temperatures rise to 55 degrees for best results.

    Will Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery help prevent puncture vines (goatheads) from emerging?
    I've have been battling goatheads on bare ground in Arizona for 4 years. Nothing I've tried has allowed my dog to go through a summer without getting these thorny devils stuck in her paws. I've hand pulled them all, dowsed them in 41% gluphosphate, and hand drug and old piece of carpet over my entire yard every year, and they still take over my yard every spring, along with the crabgrass.

    Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery is not labeled to prevent puncturevine. Pendulum 2G Granular Herbicide or Monterey Weed Impede would be better options to prevent puncturevine.

    I dont have lawn. Spurge is in my rock garden. Will the product harm my monkey grass, plumbagos and Mexican
    I need it to kill spurge without harming the monkey grass, Mexican petunias and plumbagos.

    Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery is a pre-emergent and will not kill existing weed growing in the flower beds. Also petunias are not on the label as a tolerant species unfortunately.

    What settling do I use with my Scotts 1000 Spreader for applying Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery?

    Unfortunately, we do not have the spreader settings for that specific combo, and since the manufacturer does not list that spreader on their bag we are unsure what the exact setting would be. Due to the thousands of granules on the market and just as many different types of spreaders, there isn't a master list that exists.

    We recommend calibrating your spreader for the specific product being applied or contacting the manufacturer of your model spreader or even the manufacturer of the product being applied as they may possibly be able to quickly advise on the best spreader setting rate.

    What setting is recommended for a Scotts Drop Spreader when applying Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery?

    Unfortunately, spreader settings are specific to the product being applied and the specific spreader being used for the application. Due to the thousands of granules on the market and just as many different types of spreaders, there isn't a master list that exists.

    If a granule product does not list the specific spreader and/or setting recommendation for your equipment, you will need to calibrate your spreader to the product being applied and it’s application rates or you may try contacting the manufacturer directly for assistance.

    Is there any weed control products safe to use near fruit or vegetable garden?
    I bought this property two years ago and crabgrass had already taken over. It was well-established and looked like previous owners made no effort of any kind to even slow down spread of crabgrass. Its out of control here. My previous house i was vigilant pulling it hoeing before it got established but here it is rampant growing everywhere. Is there any product safe to use around raspberry bushes, asparagus or other areas used for growing edibles? Here the crab grass is unchecked EVERYWHERE.

    Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery cannot be applied to areas where edible vegetation may grow.  Monterey Vegetable and Ornamental Weeder is a pre emergent that can be applied to edible garden areas.  Monterey Grass Getter Herbicide can be used on crabgrass and other listed weeds that are actively growing.

    I don’t have grass but I have a front yard with ornamental plants. The plants are juniper, rosemary, kangaroo paws, basically drought tolerant plants. I noticed most are talking about grasses. Thank you!!

    Yes, the max rate per year on Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery is 19 lb per 1000 sqft per the product label.
    Apply fertilome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery at a broadcast rate of 4.6 to 5.7 lb per 1000 sq. ft. A minimum rate of 4.6 lb per 1000 sq. ft. will provide optimum results. Use the higher rate in the rate range where heavy weed infestation is anticipated.

    Is now a good time to use Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery, or within the next couple of weeks? My lawn is plagued with spurge.
    Daytime temperatures are finally beginning to fall below 85 Deg F.

    Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery is used to help prevent weeds.  It does not affect any weeds that are actively growing.  Please contact your local cooperative extension office to determine the correct timing of the application as this will vary greatly from region to region.

    If you have an active issue with spurge, we would recommend Surge to treat it.
