I purchased the pre-emergence weed control to combat spotted spurge because of the water restrictions in the Palm Springs CA area. Warning-the bag has no directions on what setting to set the spreader and the help desk has no idea what setting. Their recommended setting covered less than 2500 ft instead of 5000 ft. Let the buyer beware.

Unfortunately, there are so many spreaders on the market that it is impossible for manufacturers to have a complete list of recommended settings. Also, keep in mind that different people walk at different paces. For these reasons, we highly recommend calibrating your spreader your needs. Hard to find but worth it

Pre-emergent other than corn gluten is hard to find these days but it's worth it. We've used it for a few years now and it does a good job of keeping our neighbors' 10,000 dandilions out of our yard. Much better than weed-n-feed POST-emergent.

Fertilome Preemergent

I use this product at my home in VA on my fescue and at my Dad's in GA on his Bermuda/centipede. It has saved me more hous in weeding than I can say. I apply it in VA in Early winter, spring, and sometimes summer. I used to have seas of chickweed, lespedeza, blossom weed, spurge, corn speedwell, dandelions- you name it. Not now. Tip- apply two strips on edges. They get the wear and that's the weak link. I did Dad's house in GA for the first time this year. This product has is the only ingredient that the extension site says stops chamberbitter. We will see! I am also hoping it helps with Carolina Geranium too. I will update this later to say. Shipping from this site was great. Prompt and well packed.

Absolutely demolished the chamberbitter infestation I had. Applied in the fall and again in the spring and not a single chamberbitter came up. WORTH EVERY CENT! Will be laying down again in the fall just to make sure nothing gets through. I didn't treat my roses and of course I have a few ones pop up there but this stuff is amazing.

I've been using this product for about 3 years as a pre-emergent herbicide in early spring. My primary problem here in Florida is the chamberbitter weed. I had thousands of chamberbitter seedlings every summer. Using the Fertilome with Gallery has really reduced the amount of chamberbitter seedlings that are sprouting each year. By hand-pulling the seedlings that do sprout I have almost brought the problem under complete control.

Can't say much about the product yet. First application was in spring (2013) so I haven't really given it a chance, but it does look promising. Will re-apply next spring so I will know more by mid summer (2014). Can say that the service at Do My Own Pest Control is quite fast. Had the product just a few days after ordering and now have enough on hand to last a couple years. Only gave three stars because I still don't know how well the product works. Service is 5 star.

I have been using DoMyOwn products for some time and have been very satisfied. However I was very disappointed with this product. I put it out as directed. But after several weeks the only broadleaf weeds it worked on was Dollar weed, and that wasn't really great. It didn't do anything to my dandelions or my large leaf clover etc, I resorted to Scotts Southern weed and feed which did hit the dandelions and clover about 80% effective.

I used this product about 3 weeks ago. I have noticed that my neighborhood is now infested with dandelions. My property has been spared this year and i owe it to ferti-lome. I have had to hand pick a few dandelionsions but i am still very satisfied with the product. I also used another crabgrass pre emerant. I bought fertilome specifically to curb dandelions.

Used for the first time last spring and again in the fall. I applied again first of March this year after checking soil temperature (59 degrees). I was still getting some weeds showing in late summer but about the same amount as when treated by a lawn care service in previous years. The plan is to give this product another season to see if I'm going to stick with it but I have seen about the same results as I did with the lawn care service so I have saved on the cost of keeping my lawn mostly weed free.
