Product Overview

Ferti-lome Triple Action provides quick and more complete control of insects and fungal diseases. It acts as an “exciter” to release insect pests that are hiding and into contact with spray residues. It is great to use on herbs, spices, flowers & shrubs, fruits, nuts and vegetables & roses. It will control scale, beetles, spider mites, loopers, aphids, leaf miners, armyworms, weevils, whiteflies, tent caterpillars, and other insects. This is a fungicide that works and will prevent and control fungal diseases such as: black spot, brownspot, leaf spot, powdery mildew, anthracnose, rust and others.

Ferti-lome Triple Action (blue label) is a new formulation that replaces the old Ferti-lome Triple Action Plus II (pink label).  This formulation has taken out PBO (Piperonyl butoxide) from the old formulation, but still contains pyrethrins. It can be sprayed up to the day of harvesting. Spray once every 14 days to keep pests out.

    Pest Control

    By Sonja on 08/01/2012

My neighbor's tomato plants are being invaded by worms, but mine are not. Every year my plants get worms and I have to pick them off, but not this year. I bought this specifically for my garden and specifically for my tomatoes.

    Highly Recommended

    By Matt on 08/13/2011

Mosquitoes found my indoor planters. I have used the original Fertilome TAP in the past with great results in decimating fungus gnat and spider mite populations so I gave the new formula a try by pouring a few tablespoons into the planter reservoirs on their latest fill up. A few days later there were no more mosquitos to be seen. None of my exotics are damaged. This works wonderfully.

Fertilome Triple Action Plus II does the job!

    By George on 07/12/2012

Due to the mild winter and warm, moist spring, our roses were being "eaten alive" by spider mites. The old standby's we have used for years for insect control resulted in killing off the natural predators of the spider mites, giving them a spring holiday. This was further aggravated by almost 10 days of 100+ temperatures, setting or breaking 100+ year old heat records daily, and totally unusual for North Carolina. The Fertilome couldn't help with the heat, but did strike a blow to the spider mites. Will always keep Fertilome Triple Action Plus II in our arsenal in the future!!!! Let me add that the 3 orders I have placed with DoMyOwnPestControl have been filled promptly, shipped quickly and received in excellent condition. They're my "go-to" place for garden supplies now...

Q
What product is best for spraying aphids and killing them and also gray mold on hedges and shrubs?

I have had gray mold on south privet hedges and it is sucking the life out of them. I also have aphids on my crepe myrtle bushes. I need to get rid of both problems. What is best for both problems without killing either bush or plant?

A
Fertilome Triple Action Plus II is labeled for aphids as well as many plant diseases and can be used on plants, hedges and shrubs without damaging the plant. You should know that once a fungus over runs a plant like you have described, it can be very difficult to save the plant.

Q
Will Fertilome Triple Action Plus II with 70% Neem Oil kill the white pine weevil?

The new growth on my white pines which range in sizes from 6 to 8 feet tall is drooping & turning brown. Also some newer growth is curving rather growing straight up.

A

Fertilome Triple Action Plus II with 70% Neem Oil probably wouldn't be the best choice because it doesn't leave a long lasting residual behind. The standard approach to manage white pine weevil is to spray insecticides in spring. This treatment is directed at the overwintered adults to kill them before they lay eggs. Current insecticides useful for this treatment would include products that contain bifenthrin (Talstar), cyfluthrin (Tempo) or permethrin (Tengard). Rates of use should be to the high-end of what is labeled, such as for bark beetles or borers. Timing is very important but difficult to determine. Sprays should be applied shortly before adults begin to feed on the terminal and lay eggs. You can contact your local cooperative extension office and speak to the master gardener on staff who can help you determine the correct timing. Treatment of the top of the tree during midsummer, after adults have emerged from the wilted terminals, can kill weevils as they feed in this site, reducing overall numbers that may cause problems in the subsequent year. Also, as many weevils crawl to the trees in spring, treatment of the lower trunk at the same time spring terminal applications are made may also help kill some of the migrating overwintered insects.

Q
Do I need to reapply Triple Action Plus after a rain shower?

I applied triple action plus to my garden, and roughly 90 minutes later there was a moderate rain shower for about 5 minutes.

A
Typically it takes a product a good 30 to 45 minutes to properly dry...even quicker depending on where you live in the summer.  After a product has dried completely it should hold up quite well in rain, especially only a pop up storm that only lasted 10 minutes or so.  You should be fine, but it would be okay to re-apply again in about 2 weeks if you feel that you needed to.

Q
Can Fertilome Triple Action Plus II with 70% Neem Oil be used on dogs for mange?

neem is suppose to be very effective for eliminating sarcoptic mange on dogs........can this be used on pets

A
Fertilome Triple Action Plus II with 70% Neem Oil cannot be used on dogs. Fertilome Triple Action Plus II with 70% Neem Oil actually contains 3 different active ingredients(pyrethrins, PBO, neem oil) and is not formulated for use on animals. Many pet stores and vitamin stores sell the neem oil formula that you can use on animals.

Q
Can I use the Fertilome Triple Action Plus directly on the vegetables themselves, not just the foliage?

Just to confirm, TAP can be safely sprayed directly upon the edible vegetable itself? We also have powdery mildew infestation of an Egyptian Mint plant - are the leaves still edible after treatment with TAP? Thanks

A
You can spray the Fertilome Triple Action Plus II directly on the edible vegetation with no problem. Be sure to thoroughly wash the food plant before it is consumed.

Q
Can you use this with a horticultral hyperdermic and inject into a squash or pumpkin plant to kill those borer
A
We are not exactly sure of the answer to your question.  It does not specifically say on the instructions about injecting the product.  We do not want to give you the wrong answer, so we would recommend calling the manufacturer Fertilome directly since they are the true experts on their own product.  You can reach them at 888-583-5296.

Q
Is Fertilome Triple Action Plus II with 70% Neem Oil organic?
A
Fertilome Triple Action Plus is not an organic product because it contains the active ingredient PBO, a synergizing agent which is man made. We do not carry another product that contains both an insecticide and a fungicide and is also organic. You may need to consider using two separate products together to get the same results as using Fertilome Triple Action Plus. Most people that want to use all natural products choose a combination of Insecticidal Soap and Neem Oil.

Q
Can Triple Action Plus II, or Triplet Action Plus with NEEM oil be used in a propane fogger?

I have no seeums in my yard and now in my home. I have found the Triple Action Plus works great. I want to use it in my home to kill the flying no seeums. The only way to do this is to use a fogger. I have a Burgess brand fogger that uses propane.

A
Triple Action Plus is not labeled for use in a fogger. We do carry a few oil based products that can be used in a propane fogger such as Pyrocide 100 and Shockwave.

Q
Can Triple Action Plus be used with a smaller sprayer, like a Miracle Grow sprayer? If so, what is the ratio of produce?

It takes to long to use the sprayer bottles that you have to pump up to spray. I'd like to just hook up a garden hose to a smaller sprayer, but don't know how much product to use.

A
You should be able to use Fertilome Triple Action Plus II with 70% Neem Oil in any sprayer including a hose end sprayer as long as you are using the suggested usage rate of 1 fl oz of product per gallon of water. You can see the full instruction label here: Fertilome Triple Action Plus II with 70% Neem Oil product label

Q
We have a large caper farm in Southern California with a large infestation of the bragada bug.

the caper buds are picked once a week and the berries (seed pods) are picked as they develop. All parts of this plant are edible when processed. University of California, Riverside entomologists have an info sheet this bug. Which of your products would you recommend that are food safe and harvesting can be done after the shortest wait time. Thanks

A
There are a varitey of horticultural oils that can be sprayed up to day of harvest on all edibles to control both a large variety of insects as well as a large variety of diseases. One example would be Fertilome Triple Action Plus II, but it does not have the exact species of bug you listed on the label so you may want to contact the manufacturer to ensure it will work for your pest. Fertilome is normally applied at 7-14 day intervals when condition are favorable for the pest or disease and can be used the same day the edibles are picked. You can contact VPG at 888-583-5296 or you can contact us with any other questions you may have as well.

Q
How to kill tiny spiders on a Plumeria?

Neither Talstar nor Adonis has had any affect on these tiny spiders. You can barely see them, and their webs are made where the newer branches meet the main stem. I've also tried a 3-in-one product that is supposed to kill garden insects. Nothing has worked thus far. Any suggestions? I bought the Talstar and Adonis from you and love them both. This is the first time I've had any problems controlling our many poolside flowers and plants since using these two products.

A
Do you know what species of spider you are dealing with? If not, you want to take a sample to a Local Cooperative Extension to get it identified to make sure you are using the most accurate treatment method. You could always try something like Feriltome Triple Action Plus that has 70% Neem Oil, and the neem oil will suffocate anything on the plant. If you get your insect identified you can contact us with what exact species it is and we can better direct you to a proper treatment method.
