    Q
Can I apply Flea Stoppers to my couch?
    A

The Flea Stoppers application instructions on the product label are as follows:  Furniture should be treated by lifting cushions off sofas and chairs and sprinkling the material lightly on the ticking where the cushions sit as well as in the wells of furniture (the crevices where the body of the furniture meets the back and sides) as fleas tend to frequent these areas. Beds should be treated by lifting the mattress and lightly sprinkling the material between the box springs and the mattress. The material should not be applied directly to the tops of the cushions, beds or animal bedding because its' granular nature makes it irritating (it would be like sliding your body across sand) and its' dehydrating effect would make it doubly irritating. You may also want to apply it under pet bedding in a similar manner.

Ultracide,  Precor 2000 and Flea Stoppers work very well together to eliminate fleas. We encourage daily vacuuming as well (replacing bag or emptying cannister). Flea applications should be performed once every 14 days.

    Q
Can I use Flea Stoppers on my furniture or on my bed?
    A

Flea Stoppers can be applied to both areas. Furniture should be treated by lifting cushions off sofas and chairs and sprinkling the material lightly on the ticking where the cushions sit as well as in the wells of furniture (the crevices where the body of the furniture meets the back and sides) as fleas tend to frequent these areas. Beds should be treated by lifting the mattress and lightly sprinkling the material between the box springs and the mattress. Q
Is there a tutorial video showing how to apply Flea Stoppers?
    A

Unfortunately, we do not currently have a video showing how to apply Flea Stoppers. However, there are detailed application instructions on the product label, and you can view the steps here as well:

    1. It is recommended that carpets are vacuumed thoroughly BEFORE applying Flea Stoppers carpet powder. Make sure to throw away the vacuum bag in a sealed container (or placed inside of another sealed plastic bag) as fleas will continue to breed inside of the vacuum bag.
    2. Using the convenient shaker container, shake the powder onto carpeted areas of each infested room.
    3. Use a broom or carpet rake work powder into the nap of the carpet.

We have more tips on flea control in our online guide here.

    Q
is it safe to use Flea Stoppers with a 21 day old baby in the house?
    A
Flea Stoppers is safe if applied as directed on the product label. It is a granulated formulation and not a dust formulation and this product is safe to use around asthmatics, crawling babies and pets (including birds, fish, ferrets, rabbits and other small animals) as it does not pose the same inhalation risks as other products.

    Q
Is Flea Stoppers ok to use around a baby that crawls on carpet?
I have a baby that is 8 months old and may put his mouth on the carpet and the couches in the living room. After it is vacuumed, would it pose a threat to a baby? We have a very small problem seeing about 2 ticks so far in the house from our cat. We want to stop any expansion of the ticks but fear any adverse risks on the baby.
    A
Children should not be in the area that was treated with Flea Stoppers until the entire application is complete. Flea Stoppers is not labeled for ticks, fleas only. Temprid Ready Spray would be a better option for you. It is labeled for ticks, as well as various other pests as well. This can be broadcast across the carpet and furniture. Once the product is dry, it is safe for your baby to crawl on the floor.

    Q
How long before my fleas eventually dissappear?
I've been battling my flea problem inside the house for nearly a month now and I still have fleas, but not as bad as before. I'm using livestock grade Permethrin 10% diluted by 6oz. to 1 gal. as recommended on the jug, then the IGR Precor Concentrate. I will still see fleas the next day after application as if the Permethrin isn't killing on contact? Am I doing something wrong?
    A
Normally, it takes over a month to eradicate fleas completely. We still have more questions. Like what product? What type of application? How often? Please call us at 866-581-7378 so that we can better assist you.

    Q
Which to use first? Fleastoppers or Alpine Flea spray?
I have old hardwood floors (lots of cracks) and upholstered furniture to treat. Am I correct in that I would first spray with Alpine, let dry, then apply Flea stopppers? If I only used Fleastoppers on the floor, would I need to retreat whenever I mopped or does the boric acid stay active in the floor cracks even if it get wet?
    A
Flea Stoppers is designed only to be applied to carpets. Alpine Flea with IGR can be used on hardwood floors, furniture, area rugs, etc.  It can be applied to almost any surface. However, you should always treat a small area first and allow it to dry before treating the entire area just to make sure there are no issues. The most important part of any flea treatment though is to vacuum very thoroughly before the treatment, then every 2 to 3 days after the treatment.  You should then apply a second treatment in exactly 14 days after the first one. Apply flea stoppers first. Rake or brush it to the nape of the carpet. Next apply the Apline.

    Q
Can you clarify how long to wait before after using Flea Stoppers vacuuming?
Using this product for fleas. We only have a mild infestation which has mostly been controlled by vacuuming and treating the cat, but we still see an occassional flea. Some of the people refer to following directions and waiting 7 days to vacuum but one of your answers says wait 24 hours. Which is it?
    A
Yes, you can vacuum 24 hours after application of Flea Stoppers. The granules will keep working, since you had swept or raked the Flea Stoppers into the carpeting.
