    Q
Can I use Fusillade II to kill bamboo?
If I can what ratios should I use? I heard it should be mixed with RoundUp.
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide  is labeled for 2 types of bamboo and could be used for either or only, Heavenly Bamboo  and Phyllostachys, Golden bamboo.  RoundUp QuikPro is typically the recommendation for controlling bamboo.  You will be required to cut the bamboo down to a short stump and then apply the Round Up QuickPro. It can take several applications to achieve the desired results

  • Asked by Jerry from Seattle, Wa

    Q
Is Fusilade II safe to kill quackgrass & crabgrass in a Kentucky Bluegrass lawn?
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled to be used in home lawns or on Kentucky Bluegrass and would not be recommended.  Instead you can use a product called Q4 control of the crabgrass and other listed weeds.  We do not currently carry any products that are labeled for quackgrass that are safe for use in cool season turf. We would recommend spot treating with something like Roundup and reseeding the areas

  • Asked by Chris from Huntsville, Al
    05/14/2017
    Q
What is the best way to kill off Bermuda Grass in a tall fescue lawn without yellowing the tall fescue?
    A

Fusilade II Turf and Ornamental Herbicide is a selective post-emergent herbicide that controls a long list of perennial and annual grass weeds in turf and landscaped areas. It can also be used to remove Bermuda grass from tall Fescue and Zoysia grass when used at reduced rates. Fusilade II can stand up to rain after only 1 hour of application.

Apply 0.07-0.14 oz/1000 sq. ft. (3-6 oz./A) along with 0.25% v/v (1/2 pt./25 gals.) of a nonionic surfactant. Application should be made every 28 days when the grass weeds are actively growing. The higher rates may result in temporary discolorization of the desirable turf with recovery in 10-14 days. Do not apply to desirable turf which is under stress. For best results, make applications in spring and fall and avoid treatments during July and August.
Complete control of undesirable grass may take 1-2 growing seasons.

We also recommend calling your local county extension office as they usually know the optimum times for spraying lawns in your area.

Fusilade II Herbicide is labeled for johnsongrass but is not labeled for use in pastures so would not be recommended.  We do not currently carry or aware of any product that would be used for this application and would recommend checking with your local agricultural department for the best recommendation.

  • Asked by Mary from Paso Robles, Ca

    Q
Will Fusilade II Herbicide hurt rabbits who eat the remaining grass in the yard?
have wild rabbits who come into yard on regular basis. If I apply at night then water in the AM. Will the grass the rabbits eat be safe for them? am using product to kill foxtail. Do not want to harm rabbits or my dog who occasionaly may eats grass!
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide should not be used in your turfgrass because it will harm it as well. This product is meant to be used inside of groundcover, over flowers, and around ornamentals. We do have other products that can be used in your lawn for foxtail.

If you are using this product in those areas, it is recommended that you keep any animals off of the lawn until the product has dried completely. Once it has dried, it is safe for animals to go back into the area.

  • Asked by Crystal from Annville, Pa
    04/23/2017
    Q
I have weeds in my beautiful ivy beds. What can I use to get rid of the weeds without harming the ivy?
    A

You did not mention what kind of weeds are in your ivy beds.  If they are mainly grassy weeds, you can use a product like Fusilade II Herbicide to treat them.  Broadleaf weeds, however, are a little more difficult to treat, as most products that will kill broadleaf weeds will also kill the ivy.  You can try spot treating broadleaf weeds very carefully with a nonselective product like Roundup QuikPro, but usually the safest way to remove broadleaf weeds from ivy is by hand pulling.
