    Q
Can Fusilade II Herbicide be safely combined with Sedgehammer?
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide is not applied to lawns and is a grass killer that will not control sedge. Sedgehammer is only applied to listed, established lawns for nutsedge. They should be applied to listed areas on the label at listed rates separately.

    Q
I want to use Fusillade and Turflon Ester to kill Bermuda in zoysia do I add surfactant?
    A

This will depend on the specific Turflon Ester product that you are using.  Fusillade does recommend to mix with a surfactant for best results whereas many Turflon Ester products do not recommend using one. Due to this it may be a good idea to do separate applications rather than a tank mix. It is important to review the product labels of the items you choose to use for more information and complete application instructions before use.

    Q
Been told that Fusilade at 1 oz plus Roundup at 5 oz per gallon will kill Bermuda totally, has anyone tried?
    A

While we cannot comment on the exact combination being successful, Fusilade II can be used to remove bermuda grass from tall fescue and zoysia grass when used at reduced rates. RoundUp is a non selective and will kill Bermuda grass and anything else it touches, including desirable grasses and is usually not tank mixed with a selective herbicide.

    Q
Will Fusilade kill my clematis plants?
Razor Grass has infiltrated my flower bed which has a few clematis plants in it.
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled for use over clematis so we couldn't speak to its safety or tolerance to the chemical. I checked several other grass killers we carry and none of them have been tested on or around clematis either. You would want to do a small spot treatment in an inconspicuous area to see if any negative effects occur on the clematis before proceeding with a full area broadcast treatment.

    Q
Will Fusilade II Herbicide control or kill wiregrass in tall fescue>
I have a severe infestation of wiregrass in my tall fescue lawn. I did not see wiregrass listed as one of the grass weeds it kills or controls.
    A

“Wiregrass” is a form of bermudagrass which is how many herbicides will list this on their product labels.

Fusilade II Herbicide is labeled for supression of bermudagrass in tall fescue lawns and a Non Ionic Surfactant will be needed for best results. Keep in mind, bermuda grass is extremely difficult to control and you will likely need to make several applications.

Refer to page 11 of the product label for more information.

  • Asked by Spike from Metricup

    Q
Can Fusilade II Herbicide be used around lettuce and cabbage plants without killing them?
    A

No, Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled for or safe to use over most crops including lettuce and cabbage plants. Any vegetables or crops would need to be discarded and unable to be harvested for 1 year following the application.

Grass Out Max would be an alternative recommendation to target grassy weeds around lettuce, cabbage, and a wide variety of other crops. A Non Ionic Surfactant is needed to tank mix with Grass Out Max for best results.

Please view the Grass Out Max product label for more information.

    Q
Does Fusilade II Herbicide work on Japanese stiltgrass?
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled for Japanese Stiltgrass.

The only selective product we carry labeled for Japanese stiltgrass is Acclaim Extra Selective Herbicide. Please review the product label to confirm that your turfgrass is listed as tolerant and if treating around ornamentals, they are listed as tolerant to an application. If your ornamentals are NOT listed as tolerant, avoid applications over the top and do direct spot spray applications.

    Q
Can Fusilade II Herbicide be used on succulents?
    A

Unfortunately, Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled to treat succulent plants. Since it has not been tested on succulents we are not sure if the product would harm them.

We would recommend contacting the manufacturer Syngenta directly or doing a small test application to determine if any injury would occur. Syngenta can be reached at 866-796-4368

    Q
How much Fusilade II Herbicide, surfactant and dye indicator do I mix per gallon?
I'm trying to kill Bermuda grass that's in my Zoysia.
    A

You will use 0.4 - 0.6 per 1,000 sq. ft. of Fusillade II Herbicide in at least a gallon of water. It is important to use the correct amount of product versus the amount of water. A gallon will generally treat 1000 square feet. You can also mix in the suggested rates, from the label, to determine how much surfactant and dye to use. Please read each product label for full application instructions.
