    Q
Is fusilade safe to apply over mondo grass. Also, would it kill moss? If it does not kill moss, what would?
be a good product for moss treatment?
    A
Fusilade II is labeled to be used on mondo grass but would not likely kill moss. Do you know what kind of moss you are dealing with? Moss is usually treated with very specific products depending on what type of moss you are dealing with. You should be able to get it identified by contacting your local cooperative extension office and speaking to the master gardener on staff if needed.

    Q
What is a good Bermuda Grass Killer?
Live in SW Missouri and would like to eradicate the bermuda from my Fescue/Blue Grass yard. What is the best herbicide to do this?
    A
Fusilade II is the only product we carry that specifies that it will suppress Bermuda in Tall fescue lawns. It also goes on to say that this type of application should not be made to home lawns though we are not sure why. The best time to apply Fusilade II to fescue for suppression of bermudagrass is in spring just as the bermudagrass is sprouting green stems.

The  other option for you is to spray glyphosate product such as Gly Pho-Sel Pro or Ranger Pro on the bermuda when it is green in early August, wait three weeks to see if any bermuda survives and spray again by early September if needed and then re-seed the spots with fescue in mid-September.

    Q
Can Fusillade II be sprayed on centipede grass to eliminate Bermuda grass?
    A
Fusilade II can be used to remove bermuda grass from tall fescue and zoysia grass when used at reduced rates but it is not labeled for use on centipede grass so we cannot recommend it for this use. We are not aware of a product that is labeled to remove Bermuda grass from centipede.  The only suggestion we can give is to kill the Bermuda with a glyphosate product and then re-seed the centipede in those areas.

    Q
Does this product control Torpedo Weeds and how can it be applied, sprayer, etc.?
    A
Fusilade II can be used to control torpedo grass though it may take up to 3 applications to gain control. Fusilade can be applied using a hand pump sprayer and you will need to add a surfactant to the diluted solution to get the desired results. Please read the Fusilade II product label for complete usage instructions.

    Q
How do I get rid of Centipede and/or Soyia grass from my Jasmine and low lying Juniper?
I am fighting a losing battle against my grass wanting to grow into my flower beds. I have pulled till my fingers bleed, but the grass keeps coming back. I am not real sure the exact species of grass I have, but I have narrowed it down to either Centipede or Soyia. I would like to know if their is an herbicide I can use to control this issue, and put my fingers on the mend.
    A
Fusilade II is a selective herbicide for application over flowers, bushes and ornamentals that kills grass and grassy weeds in your flower bed and ornamental planting areas.  You should mix a surfactant with it.  It typically takes 2 weeks to see results after application.

    Q
Is there a product to kill Bermuda grass in a Fescue lawn?
I have strands of Bermuda throughout my Fescue lawn - too much to hand pull and destroy. I need chemical to kill just the Fescue
    A

Bermuda would be considered a grassy weed, so you need a product that is geared towards grassy weeds and not broadleaf weeds.  We want to be clear that bermuda can be suppressed, but it is VERY difficult to kill completely.  It will take multiple treatments to finally kill it.  But Fusilade II is usually the go to product for this issue.

This is directly off of the product label:

Apply 0.07-0.14 oz/1000 sq. ft. (3-6 oz./A) along with 0.25% v/v (1/2 pt./25 gals.) of a nonionic surfactant. Application should be made every 28 days when the grass weeds are actively growing. The higher rates may result in temporary discolorization of the desirable turf with recovery in 10-14 days. Do not apply to desirable turf which is under stress. For best results, make applications in spring and fall and avoid treatments during July and August.
Complete control of undesirable grass may take 1-2 growing seasons.

We also recommend calling your local county extension office as they usually know the optimum times for spraying lawns in your area.

    Q
Is Fusilade II safe on St. Augustine Grass(Floratam)?
    A

The Fusilade II instruction label does not list St. Augustine grass, so we are not sure of the answer to your question.  We would like you to direct your question to Syngenta, the manufacturer of Fusilade, as they are the true experts on their own product and can better answer your question.  You can reach them at 1-866-SYNGENTA.

Updated Jan 2025:Fusilade is not labeled to be used on St Augustine for bermuda grass control when tank mixed with Recognition Herbicide.  Following these instructions Recognition Herbicide 2(ee) Supplemental Label-St. Augustine

    Q
Will Over The Top kill torpedo grass without killing shrubs?
    A
Over the top is not labeled for torpedo grass.  Torpedo grass is an invasive grass species that is very difficult to get rid of.  However, we do sell a professional version of over the top called Fusilade II which is labeled for torpedo grass and is what we recommend.  It is meant for the same purpose and that is for killing grasses out of your landscaped beds.  Please read the product label to make sure it is labeled for use around the type of shrubs that you have.

    Q
Do you have a herbicide that can get rid of crabgrass growing through my Asiatic jasmine?
    I live in FL.
    A
Snapshot 2.5 TG would be a good choice for a broad spectrum pre-emergent around Asiatic Jasmine. Fusilade II should be used if you need a broad spectrum post-emergent selective herbicide. Both of these herbicides are labeled to control crabgrass.

    Q
When is the best time to apply Fusilade II to a fine fescue lawn to get rid of Bermuda grass?
We have three or four spots of Bermuda grass in our lawn and we would like to eliminate them, or at least minimize them as much as possible. 1. When is the best time/times to apply Fusilade II? 2. What is the best concentration to apply for this purpose to minimize damage to the fescue, which we want? Thanks very much!
