    Can Gentrol be used to control Bed Bugs?
    If I place the devices in my bedroom will it combat the reproduction of bedbugs?

    Gentrol Point Source has not been proven as an effective means for insect growth regulation in bed bugs. We recommend using the combinations of products in our bed bug kits, which have been proven effective.

    May I use Gentrol Point Source in same room as dogs
    if I put product in or under cabinet and dogs cannot get to it, may I kennel dogs in same room without adverse effects to dogs in any way?

    Gentrol Point Source when used as directed will not pose any threats to people or pets. Please review the product label before application.

    Can you place the Gentrol Point Source on floor or higher up in cabinets
    A
    Gentrol Point Source works best if placed up in higher areas. Like on the wall beside the fridge, etc.  Gentrol Point Source works, because it latches on to particles flying in the air and moves throught the area. One disc will treat 74 sq. feet.

    Do you have to remove the Gentrol Point Source when you bomb?
    I put these out and the people want to bomb does it have to be removed or anything?

    No, you do not have to remove the Gentrol stations from the room if they are planning to bomb. It would have no effect on the bomb or vise versa.

    Will it affect my aquarium snails and shrimp by the Gentrol Point Source?
    I have a 40 gallon with snails and shrimp. Will it keep them from reproducing or affect them in any way.

    Gentrol Point Source contains a juvenile growth hormone mimic that retards the growth of certain insects. Gentrol Point Source does not contain any type of poison and should not have any effect on your aquarium residents.

    Is Gentrol Point Source harmful to my cats?
    I just put these but and my cat is acting weird. I cant tell if he's just tried or what. Is it harmful for them to breath in. He hasnt gotten a hold on a disc.

    According to the Gentrol Point Source MSDS "Due to the unique nature of the product form, acute toxicity hazards are not anticipated". This means that unless the cats actually get a hold of the disc and eat the vial inside before it is crushed, there would be no concern that they would ingest enough product to cause any type of toxicity issues. The vapors are only going to harm an insect not mammals.

    I am currently using Advion Gel all over my 360 sq ft apartment along with 10 Gentrol discs and Ortho Home def
    My German Roach infestation was never large but I think I brought it home in produce a couple years ago.Before that I hadn't seen roaches.I am currently using Advion Gel all over my 360 sq ft apartment along with 10 Gentrol discs,Boric Acid everywhere my cat can't get too and Ortho Home Defense along perimeter baseboards.I have discontinued cooking meals and drinking water at home for the last week and have seen many dead roaches.I have decreased clutter and moved pretty much everything out of my cupboards into garbage cans that ive sealed with duct tape. I am no longer seeing babies and still see about 1-2 roaches a day.I know there can be eggs still to hatch so what else can I do to fortify my attack?I can only really use methods that wont harm my cat but if need be I can move him some where else.Is there anything or anymore preemptive strikes I can utilize.I have a coupon Laborbugs5 can you get back to me before it expires please.

    First, be sure not to spray where you are baiting. Understand that it is a process and takes many weeks. You want to continue to bait with Advion once a week. Here are a few quick tips for roach control. Also, if possible put the cat food up at night. This will increase the attractiveness of the roaches to the bait.

    Gentrol Point Source for pantry moths?
    Would Gentrol Point source be effective on pantry moths? I have an infestation I can't seem to get rid of. I use pheromone sticky traps that work well but I still have pantry moths.

    The Gentrol Point Source is labeled for roaches, and the listed Stored Product Pests (red, confused flour, and merchant beetles.  The Gentrol IGR concentrate might be the better product to used depending on the type of pantry moth you are treating for as it is labeled for more.

    Should Gentrol Point Source used on top of the kitchen cabinets?
    I've seen roaches in the cabinets but didn't know if these could be inside the cabinets with dishes. Would everything in the cabinets need to be washed before use?

    Gentrol Point Source is mainly designed to be used for example on the wall beside the fridge or maybe behind toilet. It will cover 75 sq. feet. You would bait in the corners of the ccabinets using for example Maxforce Impact.

    Are Gentrol Point Sources safe in sleeping areas?
    We have a variety carpet beetle infestation. And finding them in the kids room. Is it safe to put these discs under their bed? It doesn't give out any fumes that could be harmful to growing babies? Also it says it works for 75 sqf...that means a radius of 75 right? We can't put it in the corner of a room and expect it to work on a 75sqf room.

    Does using air cleaning HEPA filter units in all the rooms of my home affect the effectiveness of the discs?

    No, Gentrol Point Sources emit off vapors to stop the pests life cycle. HEPA filters collect dust, bugs and dirt. They both do two different things.

    I like the idea of Gentrol Point Source and a bait, but I need products that can be used around toddlers.
    I would use Gentrol Point Source inside cabinets and in the laundry room, along with some sort of bait that I hope you can recommend. But I have 2 toddlers and they "get into things". I have child-proof locks on cabinets but if I turn my back on an open cabinet while I am removing several items I worry about the toxicity. Do you have any recommendations on what bait to use and can I somehow use Gentrol Point Source safely?

    Assuming you are treating for roaches, we would recommend that you treat with Temprid SC to the cracks and crevices when the children are not in the area during application and allow to completely dry. Once dry it is safe. The Gentrol Point Source stations can be safe if activated and applied in the cabinets up high out of their reach (also better for roach control). If treating smaller roaches, you could adhere the pre-baited Maxforce FC Roach Bait Stations to the insides of the back of the cabinets and underneath sinks and they will not be able to access the product. Please let us know if you need anything else. I have included some helpful information below.

    Yes, Gentrol Point Source is safe to use while pregnant. You will place these inside cabinets, drawers, on the side of a refrigerator, etc.

    Will Gentrol IGR kill my flowers?
    A

    Gentrol IGR is not labeled to be applied to flowers or plants, so it would not be recommended to do so. It is really only a crack and crevice treatment as directed on the product label. We are not aware of the effects it would have on plants, but you can contact the manufacturer directly for further information.  Zoecon can be reached at 800-877-6374. Gentrol also would not be photostable outdoors, although we do carry other IGRs that are labeled for use outdoors.     Is the coverage area of Gentrol Point Source stations the same as the radius?
    The product information says it covers 75 square feet, that's the same as 75 ft radius, right? So, if you put it on the corner of the room you actually only get a quarter of the product working right?

    The radius is measured from the center to the edge of a circle. When finding out the area in which to use a Gentrol Point Source station, you need to figure out an area of 75 square feet. You can do that by measuring out an area of 7.5 feet by 10 feet and that's the area one station will cover.

    What is the expiration date of the Gentrol Point Source Stations?

    The Gentrol Point Source Stations when unused will have a shelf life of at least a year or so. Once activated, each station will continue to give out the growth inhibiting vapor for 3 months before each station would need to be replaced.

    No, Gentrol Point Sources are not harmful to individuals or pets when used on the side of a refrigerator. It is recommended that you keep them out of reach of pets/children.

    Will Gentrol Point Source Stations work on bed bugs?
    I am currently using Gentrol Point Source Stations and Advion Roach Bait Gel to combat a roach problem.

    Gentrol Point Source is not labeled for treatment of bed bugs, it is only labeled to treat roaches and pantry pests.  However, we do sell the Gentrol IGR in the liquid form in all of our Bed Bug Kits and the liquid IGR is labeled for treatment of bed bugs.

    Would Gentrol Point Source work inside a wall?
    If I remove an unused electrical switch from the wall and place a Gentrol disc inside, and then cover the hole back up, will that work to control roaches living behind the drywall?

    The Gentrol Point Source is designed to work in areas such as open rooms, closets, or cabinets, where the active ingredient vapor can move throughout the space. We would not recommend trying to use the Gentrol Point Source inside a wall void. You could apply an insecticide dust such as CimeXa Insecticide Dust into wall voids for long-lasting control of roaches in this area. Please see our Roach Treatment Guide for more information about treating for this pest.
