Grass Out Max will work best when plants are young, but actively growing. You can make applications usually starting around 60 degrees when the plants first start growing and continue to make applications until temps reach about 85 degrees but no higher or you can cause damage to desirable growth.

Please review the product label before application. If you are only experiencing problems in planters, then you may need to examine whether weeds are coming up from the ground below them, in which case you should move and/or add a barrier under or inside the planters. Transplanting or changing the potting soil would also ensure no new growth of unwanted plants.

The only one we are currently aware of is called Prograss. Your other options would be to either spot-treat with a Roundup-type? product and then reseed with the fescue in those areas, or you can use a preemergent like Prodiamine 65 WDG in the fall to prevent the poa from growing in the first place.
