Grass Out Max (Clethodim Herbicide) would injure the moss. We would recommend using Ferti-lome Over the Top II Weed Killer to kill grassy weeds in and around moss. The product label lists different varieties of moss that are tolerant, please view the product label HERE.

Grass Out Max in theory would likely harm St Augustine grass since it targets similar grasses such as bermuda. However if the herbicide is not listing it as a control plant, then we couldn't say that it would actually be effective.
Grass Out Max (Clethodim Herbicide) is labeled to kill bermudagrass and safe to be used around liriope and lantana. It lists wirestem muhly as tolerant but not pink muhly, breeze grass or butterfly bush.
We would recommend contacting the Master Gardener with the Cooperative Extension office for recommendations for treating around those ornamentals.
Another option will be to spot treat with a non selective such as RoundUp QuickPro carefully spring the weed directly. This will not leach into the soil near desirable plants if applied carefully.

Due to labeling changes, revisions, updates, etc by manufacturers, it is always recommended that customers review the full product label prior to treating and observing all restrictions, limitations and directions per the product label being they are the end user and applying the pestiicide.
For Ornamentals (page 62) The product label provides a full list of the plants tested for use with Grass Out Max and does advise the following precaution “Due to variability within species, crop growth stage, environmental conditions, and application techniques, it is advised that the user determine if herbicide can be used safely on a few plants prior to widespread application. Neither the seller nor the manufacturer of AGRISEL GRASSOUT MAX HERBICIDE have investigated the safety factor to ornamental plants not listed on the label.”
Another mention is located on page 52 in Restrictive Labeling Section “Avoid contact with foliage, green stems, or fruit crops, or any desirable plants and trees, other than soybean with the Roundup Ready gene as severe injury or destruction will result."
Grass Out Max (Clethodim Herbicide) can be used to kill actively growing bermudagrass in ornamental beds however would not be used for turf applications. This product is only a post emergent and does not have any pre emergent qualities to prevent bermudagrass from germinating.
Depending on the type of turfgrass you will be reseeding with, you can kill the bermudagrass with a non selective like Roundup QuickPro and then reseed after 2 weeks. If you are reseeding with a cool season turfgrass such as Tall Fescue, Kentucky Bluegrass, Ryegrass – Tenacity Herbicde can be applied for pre emergent control of weeds at the same time as seeding. When using Grass Out Max (Clethodim Herbicide) label states that it will be most effective if applied at higher than 47 degrees but not exceeding 80 degrees or crop injury may occur. Best to apply during the day so the application has enough time to dry before night fall.
