Can Hi - Yield 2, 4 - D Selective Weed Killer be used on St Augustine and Bahiagrass?
    A

Unfortunately, Hi-Yield 2, 4-D Selective Weed Killer is not labeled for St. Augustine. In fact, according to the product label, it can cause injury to this type of grass. This product also does not state that bahiagrass is tolerant, so we cannot recommend that you use it on this grass species. Depending on the weeds you are targeting, you can look at using a product like Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone

  • Asked by Jack from Elgin, Oklahoma

    Q
When is the best time to spray Hi - Yield 2, 4 - D Selective Weed Killer for burweeds?
Should you wait until you see them or before like a pre emergent? Using on lawn with Bermuda grass.
    A

Hi-Yield 2, 4-D Selective Weed Killer is not labeled for burweed. We would recommend using a post emergent like Dismiss on Bermuda in the spring to treat actively growing burweed. Burweed is a cool season weed that germinates in the early fall as temperatures cool and it grows over the winter. Pendulum is a good fall option for treatment before the weeds starts to germinate.

  • Asked by Mackey from Gonzales, La
    01/08/2021
    Q
Will Hi - Yield 2, 4 - D Selective Weed Killer hurt my lawn if freezing temperatures are expected on the night of application?
    A

It is recommended that you apply Hi-Yield 2, 4-D Selective Weed Killer when the temperature is at least about 55 degrees Fahrenheit. We do not recommend applying if you are expecting a freeze within about 24 hours of the application since this will put extra stress on the turfgrass. Most plants are not actively when it is that cold, thus reducing the efficacy of the herbicide.
