    Q
Do you recommend Hi-Yield 55% Malathion Insecticide Spray to prevent wasps building nests in the cracks between the bricks and trim of my house?
They are actually getting in the walls.
    A

Hi-Yield 55% Malathion Insecticide Spray would not be the product we would recommend for your application. We would recommend Onslaught Insecticide. This perfoms well on porous surfaces like concrete and brick without the visible residue of wettable powders, and will give you a long lasting residual as well.

    Q
Will Hi-Yield 55% Malathion Insecticide Spray destroy earwigs in the vegetable garden?
Earwigs have began to invade our corn crop. We have tried other products with little success.
    A

No, Hi-Yield 55% Malathion Insecticide Spray is not labeled for earwigs.

We would recommend using Fertilome Triple Action. This is safe for use on and around edibles and will eliminate earwigs. The mixing ratio is 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water. This can be used every 14 days to keep the pests out.

  • Asked by Luci
    10/26/2016
    Q
How long does the chemical in Hi-Yield 55% Malation Insecticde Spray last?
a house was sprayed inside with malathion several years ago and has sat vacant since.
    A

Hi-Yield 55% Malathion Insecticide Spray is generallly used for outdoor home garden use for select pests. Since this is labeled to be used on edibles in a garden the residual of the product is not that long. If the house has sat vacant for several years there would be nothing left behind at this point. You could wash the area/areas with soap and water for your own peace of mind if need be since that is all that is needed when eating things out of a garden once this product is used on them.

  • Asked by Sharon
    05/27/2017
    Q
Does the petroleum in the Hi-Yield 55% Malathion mean it is an oil?
I need to treat my roses (not when they are in bloom). However, I can not use neem oil because it fries the leaves when it is hot. I was told by the local rose society not to use ANY type of oil products here in SE Florida because they will all fry the leaves. So I am trying to determine which of your products for mites do not have an oil base..... thank you
    A

Hi-Yield 55% Malathion Insecticide Spray is an oil-based product.  An alternative water-based product for mites would be Talstar P, though no product should be used during the heat of the day to prevent burning.  Apply early morning or late evening, avoiding blooms.
