    Q
Is Hi-Yield Lawn, Garden, Pet and Livestock Insect Control the best product around edible plants to kill squash bugs?
Would this be the best solution to kill squash bugs off our zucchini plants? We have tried other organic methods to no avail. We were debating on giving up on squashes all together until we heard about this product. Is this best, or what would you recommend for the most vile creature on earth... "The dreaded squash bug"? We want it safe for us, lethal for the bugs. :)
    A

Hi-Yield Lawn, Garden, Pet and Livestock Insect Control would be a great product to use for squash bugs and is one of the few that we carry labeled for use on edibles.  It can be used up to the day of harvest.  Be sure to refer to the product label for complete instructions.

  • Asked by Hank from Fl

    Q
Is Hi-Yield Lawn, Garden, Pet and Livestock Insect Control safe around bees?
We have a minor tick problem and need something to spray on lawn and shrubs that targets ticks but won't hurt flowers and especially bees.
    A
Permethrin, the active ingredient in Hi-Yield Lawn, Garden, Pet and Livestock, is not selective and can harm bees that land on treated areas. Mavrik Perimeter is the only product that we are aware of that is labeled to help control ticks and is not toxic to bees and is safe to spray on ornamental plants. You should only apply the product when bees are not actively foraging in the area and once it has dried it will be safe for the bees.
