You want to wait at least 4-6 weeks after applying Hi-Yield Grub Free Zone III to apply a weed killer or fertilizer. This way you do not disrupt the product from working in the thatch layer and killing grubs.
Hi-Yield Grub Free Zone III is labeled for grubs but yes, you do need to treat before the grubs hatch. If they are truly active, the only thing that can be applied to kill them is Dylox 6.2 Granules.

As long as you keep pets/children out of the area while you treat and until the product has had time to completely dry it is safe for pets and people to return and resume normal activity .
