DIRECTIONS FOR USE
For residential use on lawns and landscaped areas. Do not apply this by any application method, to linden, basswood or other Tilia species in the State of Oregon.
APPLICATION TO LAWNS
Pests Controlled: White grubs (including the larvae of the Japanese beetle, Oriental beetle, Chafers, Asiatic garden beetle, May or June beetles, and black turfgrass Ataenius) and mole crickets.
How to Apply: Using either a drop-type or rotary-type spreader, apply HI-YIELD GRUB FREE ZONE II uniformly over the area being treated. Avoid the use of spreaders which may apply the product in narrow, concentrated or uneven bands. Calibrate your spreader according to the spreader manufacturer’s directions to ensure the proper amount of HI-YIELD GRUB FREE ZONE II is applied. Check frequently to be sure spreader is working properly and spreading granules evenly.
After Applying: HI-YIELD GRUB FREE ZONE II will work best if the lawn is watered thoroughly or if rainfall occurs within 24 hours after application to move the active ingredient through the thatch and down into the soil. Avoid mowing the lawn until watering or rainfall has occurred so that the uniformity of the granules is not disturbed.
When to Apply: HI-YIELD GRUB FREE ZONE II works best when applied before grubs and mole crickets hatch.
For best results, apply as follows: White grubs: Apply once, anytime from April through mid-August.
Mole crickets: In Florida, apply once from early April through early May. Elsewhere, apply once from mid-May through mid-June.
Do Not Apply HI-YIELD GRUB FREE ZONE II when turf areas are waterlogged. It may not work effectively under these conditions.
How Much to Apply: For control of white grubs, HI-YIELD GRUB FREE ZONE II should be applied at the rate of 2.87 pounds per 1,000 square feet. For mole cricket control, apply 3.8 pounds per 1,000 square feet. The table below can be used as a guide for applying the proper rate of HI-YIELD® GRUB FREE ZONE II. However, the application rate can vary depending on the speed of application and the condition of the spreader. For best results, use a normal, steady pace when applying to obtain an accurate, even application.
APPLICATION EQUIPMENT AND INSTRUCTIONS
This can be applied with a drop or broadcast (rotary) spreader. For best results, apply this product evenly and uniformly over the turfgrass (lawn) area avoiding streaking, skips or overlaps.
Before each application, determine the correct amount (lbs.) of product to place in the spreader hopper for the area to be treated. For example, if the label states to apply 2.87 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. and your area to treat is 5,000 sq. ft. then place 15 lbs. of product in the hopper and set the spreader setting at 3 (per table below) if using an Accugreen drop spreader.
A more uniform application can be made by spreading one-half of the recommended amount of this product over the turfgrass area and then applying the remaining one-half of this product at a right angle to the previous application direction.
APPLICATION TO LANDSCAPE PLANTINGS (Trees, Shrubs, Evergreens, Flowers, Ground covers)
Pests Controlled: White grubs (including larvae of the Japanese beetle, Oriental beetle, chafers, Asiatic garden beetle, European Cranefly, May and June beetle, and black turfgrass Ataenius).
How to Apply: Apply as a broadcast treatment to the soil, mulch or other substrate. Prior to application, remove black plastic from area to be treated to allow water to penetrate into the soil. Permeable weed barriers need not be removed prior to application.
After Applying: HI-YIELD GRUB FREE ZONE II will work best if the material is worked into the soil around plants or if a thorough watering of rainfall occurs within 24 hours after application to move the product down through the mulch and into the soil.
When to Apply: The best control of grubs will be obtained if HI-YIELD GRUB FREE ZONE II is applied before grubs begin to hatch. For best results, the application should occur from April through mid-August.
DO NOT apply to waterlogged areas. IMIDACLOPRID may not work effectively under these conditions.
How Much to Apply: HI-YIELD GRUB FREE ZONE II should be applied at the rate of 2.87 pounds per 1,000 square feet. This 15-pound bag will treat 5,000 square feet of landscaped area. However, the application rate can vary depending on the speed of application and the condition of the spreader.
NOTE: DO NOT apply HI-YIELD GRUB FREE ZONE II to vegetable gardens.

The Hi - Yield Grub Free Zone II is not labeled to be used for chinch bugs so we are unable to provide a rate for them. It only states White grubs (including the larvae of the Japanese beetle, Oriental beetle, Chafers, Asiatic garden beetle, May or June beetles, and black turfgrass Ataenius) and mole crickets on the product label. For chinch bugs we would recommend Talstar Xtra instead.
