How long would this take to eliminate a carpenter ant colony?

How long does this product typically take to eliminate a carpenter ant colony? I purchased this product from another vendor, and they stated that it could take months or a change of season for the ants to consume the bait if there are other food sources. Is that true? The ants were not eating the bait after > 30 days, so I sprayed a non-repellant around the exterior of my home. I was told it's incorrect to do that as well. Can this product be used in conjunction with non-repellant insecticides? I ask because I'm considering ordering this product from you all and want to make sure I'm not wasting my time. I've already spent $120 on bait dispensers.

Answer:

How long it can take for Green Way Liquid Ant Killing Bait to eliminate colonies can vary depending on the size of the colonies and the number of colonies you are actually dealing with.  It can take 30 days or longer.  This bait is really more sugar based and ant's nutritional needs change so we recommend also using a fat/protein-based granule bait along with it such as the Advance Carpenter Ant Bait.

Insecticide whether repellent or non-repellent should never be used in areas you are baiting as it will contain the bait making it less attractive.
