Details

InTice Fine Granular Bait is very similar to the popular Niban bait product and is a versatile, ready-to-use, mold and moisture resistant granular bait for control of crawling insects, including roaches, ants, crickets, and silverfish. InTice Granular Bait granules are highly palatable, containing proteins, oils, and sweet to satisfy the taste preferences of a wide variety of insects and maximize bait acceptance. Available in a 1 lb shaker bottle or 5 lb. bag.

General Product Information:
InTice Granular Bait is made from a unique formula that will remain fresh and effective for 90 whole days, even in the hot sun or after several inches of rain! InTice Granular Bait is available in coarse and fine sizes so it can be used indoors or outdoors under most conditions and circumstances. Try InTice course granules as a stand alone perimeter treatment or a spot treatment for problem areas. InTice fine granules are ideal for use as an indoor treatment dusted into wall voids, under cupboards and appliances and in basements and attics.

How InTice Granular Bait works:
Crawling insects are drawn to ingest InTice Granular Bait while foraging because of its highly palatable formula containing proteins, oils, and sweet ingredients. Once ingested, the active ingredient Orthoboric Acid begins working to block the insect’s enzyme production, causing death from eventual starvation.

HOW TO APPLY INTICE GRANULAR BAIT:

For the control of ants, cockroaches, crickets and mole crickets on lawns, ornamental turf, playing fields, parks and golf coursegreens: Spread InTice Granular Bait evenly by hand or with a mechanical spreader to affected area at a rate of 2 lbs per 1000 square feet (3.2 oz or 2/3 cup per 100 square feet) or 90 lbs per acre.

When treating for mole crickets, areas to be treated should be well-irrigated prior to application and product applied late in the afternoon. For maximum effectiveness, do not irrigate treated area immediately after application.

Exterior baiting for the control of ants, including Carpenter ants around homes and other structures: Treat exterior perimeter areas of structure in a band of InTice Granular Bait at least 2 to 4 feet wide at a rate of 6 oz or 1.25 cups per 100 square feet. Also apply product in a 2 to 4 foot band around all tress, stumps, firewood piles and other locations where Carpenter ants may nest. If the nest is located in a hollow tree or stump, apply 1/2 to 1 ounce of product directly into cavity. Apply InTice Granular Bait along ant trails and in areas where ant activity has been noted.

For the control of ants, cockroaches, crickets and silverfish in and around homes, hotels, apartment buildings, stores, restaurants (nonfood areas), warehouses, and sewers: For interior applications: Apply InTice Granular Bait at a rate 4 pounds per 1000 square feet (6 oz or 1.25 cups per 100 square feet) of surface area. Apply only in areas inaccessible to children and pets or in tamper-resistant bait stations. Spread InTice Granular Bait evenly in crawl spaces, attics, dropped ceilings and cellars with dirt or gravel floors. In attics, be sure to apply in eaves and access drains. In warehouses, garages and basements, concentrate application along walls and baseboards. Concentrate application in areas where insect activity is most prevalent. InTice Granular Bait may also be applied in inaccessible areas, such as cracks and crevices, where insects may hide. Apply in pits of elevator, dumbwaiter and trash chute shafts. Apply under and behind pallets and boxes in storerooms. Bait may also be applied in removable covered bait stations in areas accessible to insects. Always record the location and number of bait stations. In sewers, apply along ledges and around manhole entrances.

Exterior applications: Treat exterior perimeter building walls in a band of InTice Granular Bait approximately two feet wide and scatter bait in flower beds, leaf litter, woodpiles, trash cans and refuse areas. Reapply as necessary.

For perimeter treatments: Spread InTice Granular Bait at a rate of 6 oz or 1.25 cups per 100 square feet in a band at least two feet wide around foundations, patios, driveways, sidewalks, entrances to homes and buildings or other areas where insects are present. Apply InTice Granular Bait around landscape lighting, floodlights, street lamps or other exterior fixtures and scatter bait in flowerbeds, leaf litter, woodpiles, around trashcans and refuse areas. Reapply as necessary.

For treating ant mounds: Apply 1/2 to 1 oz of InTice Granular Bait around all ant mounds. Supplement with broadcast application in immediate area and along ant trails and in areas where ant activity has been noted.

Crack and Crevice Applications: InTice Granular Bait may be used as a crack and crevice application using most types of dust applicators. A bellows type duster works best. Insert stem into gaps, cracks and crevices and apply 2 to 6 puffs per linear foot, depending upon severity of the infestation. Drill small holes to gain access into wall voids and under cabinets. This product may also be applied in appropriate areas with a power duster. Consult equipment manufacturer for recommended settings.

    By Marie on 10/17/2012

    Verified Purchase

I have been using InTice Granular Bait for many years. The product works almost instantly. Within a day or two, there are significantly less to almost none humpback crickets and ants. I will continue to use this product.

Seems to work fine, esp in combination with other things

    By Sean on 12/04/2012

I live in Miami, so we get all types of bugs - ants and roaches galore. I use Demon as a barrier treatment around the outside of my house, and sprinkle this around the landscape areas of the yard, as well as the grass. In 18 months, I have not seen not even one roach inside the house. I've started using it for ants, so not sure yet what to say about effectiveness. I did hire a company to come out and treat our palm trees for whiteflies, and told him about our ant problem, and he said "use Termidor around the edge of the house, and InTice in the yard and landscape, and you won't have any problems with ants." He said the bait (InTice) is essential to stopping them. And, it's totally safe for pets and humans!

Q
What hazards are there for persons entering an attic area after using InTice Bait?

I am a homeowner . I apparently have "white footed" ants in the attic that are coming down into the house . My pest control contractor want to use "Intice granular bait" to broadcast in the attic . My air handler for my AC unit is in the attic over the garage with also a platform to for storage . "Question: What hazards would there be for persons entering the attic area after application ? for how long ? What postings if any are required ? What precautions /actions should workman or persons take while or after working up in the attic? The platform where the air handler and storage area are , can they be accessed without concern ? Thanks for any info you can provide !

A

Intice Fine Granular Bait contains the active ingedient Orthoboric Acid, a natural insecticide that works when the insect ingests it. Please take a few minutes and read the product label. It does seem as though your pest control operator is using the product according to the manufacturer's instructions. According to the product label "In attics, be sure to get bait near the eaves and vent pipes where insects often first enter, as well as around any pipes or potential access points between the attic and the main structure. Attics should have proper ventilation to insure that no food odor from the bait seeps into the living area, particularly in hot weather. If in doubt, apply the product in a manner such that itcan be easily removed." The label further states that applicators and people coming into contact with the product should wear Long-sleeved shirt and long pants: chemical resistant or waterproof gloves: and shoes plus socksand they should wash their hands before eating, drinking or using the toilet. Q
Why was this product replaced with intice 10? Intice 10 is not labeled for use against carpenter ants.

Is there an alternative bait that works against carpenter ants?

A

The bait matrix or the food based ingredients that attract the ants are different and may not be as attractive to that particular ant species.  The Intice 10 has a higher percentage of boric acid.  If you would like to know more you can contact the manufacturer directly here

We do carry the Advance Carpenter Ant Bait here.
