Product Overview

J.T. Eaton Nectus 2G Second Generation Rodenticide (716-S) is a second-generation bait which means a single feed bait may induce highly lethal dosage. This soft bait with .005% Bromadiolone is made of an oil-scented composite with a moist texture, making it an appetizing rodent bait. It is especially formulated for rodents which are unwilling to take other baits. It is ideal to be placed in areas where there is competition for food or scarcity of such. It is even more irresistible for rodents compared to food material found in stables and food warehouses. The moisture content within this bait makes it ideal to be used indoors where water is scarce for rodents. It also contains Bitrex to discourage children and pet consumption. Time to kill is 3 to 5 days. This particular product comes in a 16 lb. resealable and tamper-evident pail containing bait pouches each approximately weighing .38 ounces (10 grams). Contains approx. 725 pieces in each pail.

Note: Due to California state restrictions, this product cannot be sold to California residents.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

USE RESTRICTIONS:

  • Can only be used to control Norway rats, roof rats, and house mice in and within 100 feet of man-made structures.
  • Do not place near or inside ventilation duct openings.
  • Do not apply directly to food or feed crops.
  • Do not contaminate water, food, feedstuffs, food or feed handling equipment, or milk or meat handling equipment or surfaces that come into direct contact with food.
  • When used in USDA-inspected facilities, this product must be applied in tamper, resistant bait stations.
  • Burrow baiting with this product is prohibited.

SELECTION OF TREATMENTS: First remove as much food, water and harborage as possible. Next, look for evidence of rodent activity and place bait in these areas. Generally, these areas are along walls, by gnawed openings, beside burrows, in corners and concealed places, between floors and walls, or in locations where signs of rats or house mice have been seen. Protect bait from rain or snow.

BAIT STATIONS: We highly recommend tamper resistant bait stations to keep children and pets away from the bait.

APPLICATION DIRECTIONS:

NORWAY RATS AND ROOF RATS: Apply 10 to 42 bait bags per placement for controlling rats. Space placements 15 to 30 feet apart at appropriate locations within the infested area. Maintain a continuous supply of fresh bait for at least 10 days or until signs of new feeding by rats on bait cease to appear.

HOUSE MICE: Apply 1 bait bag per placement spaced between 8 to 12 feet apart. Two bags may be needed at points of very high mouse activity. Maintain a constant supply of fresh bait for 15 days or until signs of mouse activity cease.

FOLLOW-UP: While wearing gloves, replace contaminated or spoiled bait immediately. Collect and properly dispose of dead animals and leftover bait and bait bags, as well as any bait that has become accessible to non target animals. If re-infestation does occur, repeat treatment. For continuous sources of infestation, set up permanent bait stations and replenish them as needed.

I run my own Pest company in Maryland and this product does all the work for me. Great acceptance from mice and rats and is one of the cheapest soft baits on the market.

    Undisputed Champion

    By Rick on 11/11/2020

    Verified Purchase

Winning with fast results and savings. 1... You get a ton of bait. 2... Single feed 3... Same result as 1st Strike. 4... Half the price. I admit it looks like Laffy Taffy, but his stuff is like catnip to rodents. I've seen a mice climb for this bait. I store it up high away from children's reach. I was a huge fan of Talon until I purchased Nectus. Soft bait is the only way to go.

Q
Do you remove the paper covering from the J.T. Eaton Nectus 2G Second Generation Rodenticide packets, or do you use the bait "as is" to put into the bait stations?
A

There is no need to remove the paper from the J.T. Eaton Nectus 2G Second Generation Rodenticide soft bait packets. Rodents naturally like to gnaw, so the paper wrapping is appealling to them.

Q
Does the J.T. Eaton Nectus 2G Second Generation Rodenticide kill squirrels?

Squirrels in the attic problem.

A

J.T. Eaton Nectus 2G Second Generation Rodenticide is only labeled for rats and mice. It is not labeled to control squirrels nor are most baits on the market. For squirrels in an attic its best to use snap traps and glue traps in the attic to catch them on, or use a one way door excluder mounted over their entry/exit point to the home/attic to allow them to leave and then patch the hole after they are out.

Q
What is the shelf life of J.T. Eaton Nectus 2G Second Generation Rodenticide?

I purchased the 16lb bucket as it's the only thing available. I won't use the whole amount in one season (I plan to rotate baits throughout the year to avoid rodents developing resistance). What is the opened shelf life of this if stored in "cool, dry place"

A

J.T. Eaton Nectus 2G Second Generation Rodenticide (716-S) is good for year once it has been opened if stored at room temperature.
