The Lawn and Garden Dispenser Tube can be used to apply any garden dusts quickly and easily. The sometime long task will only take minutes, and no more getting on hands and needs to apply. This reusable tool can be used to apply any garden dusts, like Milky Spore Powder or Diatomaceous earth.
Disappointed! It is nothing more than a cardboard tube with a very cheap plastic cover that doesn't even provide a easy way to press out the plastic tab for dispensing. I almost damaged the dispensing end because i had to physically cut out the dispensing tab….not worth the price!
I have not used a dust product since I was a kid in my dad's garden. Knowing what I know now, I could have drill holes in a small can and applied with a good shake every 4' and gotten the same results a whole lot cheaper. I lived and learned. Hope this helps. JL
Eighteen bucks for a cardboard tube? The plastic salt-shaker-like dispenser at the end of the tube clogged repeatedly; I had to drill a hole in it to get it to dispense according to the instructions. And after tapping the tube on the ground to get it to work, it cracked and I had to tape it up. Much of the problem is with the product itself -- if you don't use this dispenser, you have to use a tablespoon to apply it to your lawn. Pain in the neck.
Made of cardboard and the end clogs. Made my own using a couple of vacuum cleaner tubes. Taped them to a large coffee can to hold the powder and dropped a teaspoon of the powder into the tube every 4 feet. This works a lot better and no bending over to put the powder onto the ground.
Is the dust applied by just sprinkling it on the lawn/garden and then watered?
How exactly does the dispenser tube work?
The Milky Spore Tube Dispensers are great for treating larger areas with more convenience. You would simply pour the Milky Spore Powder into the Dispenser Tube, break open the seal at the bottom of the tube and apply the Milky Spore Powder in a spot application: one teaspoon of powder every four feet in rows four feet apart to achieve a checkerboard pattern of spots throughout the treated area. Once you have completed the application, you should water in the powder in all of the treated area for about 15 minutes. Only one application is required, but may take one to four years to gain optimum control.
Do you have to wear protective clothing when you apply Milky Spore powder? Are the spores harmful to the lungs?
Milky Spore Powder itself is not toxic. However, Milky Spore contains chalk and a powder carrier. Care should be taken not to get any dust in one's eyes as it is an irritant. You should wear protective clothing and a mask to prevent the powder from getting in your lungs.
